My new to me Crosman 400 is on its way back from Tim Smith for a seal repair and I would like to put a scope on it (old eyes). Does anybody know what is on the market these days that will let me do this.

Cool the 400 Repeater are a very interesting CO2 rifle. Please post pics.
If you don’t have a scope mount yet, go to this site immediately and at the bottom is their Crosman Scope Mount, they have one left. There is nothing on the market close to how good these are.

I put one on my Crosman 110 yesterday:

Once you get your mount you need to decide, regular mount or scout mounting. I did my 108 with a pistol scope mount in the scout or mid position. To me this is the way to go, scope is out of the way and very effective. Been a lot of discussion in other posts here, about different scope options this last week.

Unfortunately, the Mac1 mount will not work on a model 400. The mount is made to use on the older Crosman .435" diameter barrels, the 400 barrel is .563". There are few options short of having dovetail grooves cut in the barrel. I have two 400s. One has a set of Ron Robinson's mounts with a Simmons 4x32. Do some digging, you may be able to find a set. They work by pinching the junction of the plastic spacer and barrel, at the same time gripping the 1" scope tube. Kind of funky but they work. The other rifle has a vintage Crosman stamped steel mount. Equally funky but serviceable. Limits you to a 3/4" scope. A bit of scrounging and you should be able to find one of these. The model 400 is a very fun gun with a scope. You can sure go through a lot of pellets fast!

Awesome Terry, for correcting my misinformation, good to know if a 400 comes my way.

Recently stumbled across a link on another airgun forum that shows mounts that look just like Ron Robinsons. I guess Mr Robinson himself is pointing people to this link?.?.

I ordered that mount months back for my crosman 180 and they took too long to ship, I was told by the manager the reason it didn't ship was the mount was sold out with no hope of ever getting any more back in stock, you may want to try calling first to verify before placing an order, who knows..

To bad these are not available any more. A good mount for the newer barrels would be simple to make, for someone with the equipment. I would be first in line for a couple.

Bummer. I have only one set and I really like them.

Just remembered. I have a Air Venturi mount for the 39X Benjamin’s that I used on my Crosman 400 for a bit. Gets pretty tall.
-
Found a picture showing my 400 with 39X mount next to 180 with Robinson.

Found the old thread with pics discussing the Ron Robinson, I was recommended to use the Air Venturi for Benji 39x on the CR180 that should work on the 400 as pictured above by CClingma ...

I'm no help, but my Sears model of the 400 has scope grooves. So shallow you'd have to sharpen up the claws on the rings to get a fingernail hold on the barrel though.

My old Sears/Crosman barrels have shallow scope grooves but they do work as intended.
