Title: Quick preliminary testing of Bob's .30 cal pellet.
Post by: Nomadic Pirate on April 08, 2018, 12:36:52 AM
Today I had a chance to put a few of this pellets down the barrels, it was rainy so I only tested at 35 yards.

First of all a shout out to Keith for supplying 2 bags of pellets.

So I shot one magazine each of the 60gr and 63gr out of both my .30 Storms.

didn't take pictures because the target face had other groups on it ( I will put a new target on and shoot again and take pictures )

The 60gr pellets have quite a bit of imperfections the 63gr are better,

first of all, the pellets fit the Evanix magazine.

POI was pretty much spot on with where the JSB 45gr would be from both guns with both pellets.

The 100 FPE Storm gave better results and the 7 shot group with the 63gr was a rugged hole,

I can tell already that I will invest on the Mould, results are really promising with pellets that are nowhere near perfect so I can definitely see those pellets being decent once well casted.

Manny, the quality of the cast will make a huge difference. Not only in weight, but believe it or not, a very clean, flat base can make all the difference in the world. More so than the nose by a huge margin! ;)

Too nasty to shoot today. 84 deg. yesterday. 38 with stiff 25-30 mph in my face if at the bench. GRRRR!!!

Very interested in seeing what is out there for the .25.  ;)

Supposed to be much better Sunday.  8)
