Title: Np to spring conversion

Is it possible to convert my Vantage Np into a spring gun using Optimus  parts? I,m thinking I would need the spring,guides and piston. If anyone has done this do you remember what the cost in parts was?

Don't think you'd even need a new piston.
Check the parts lists at Crosman. You may only need the spring and spring guides.

I checked out the two parts list and the pistons are different part numbers. The tube covers are also different numbers so I think it would be safe to order that also.The thing that has me wondering if it,s doable is the compression tubes are different numbers.

Any thoughts on that?

The different part numbers are not necessarily indicative of a reason one would not work.  Some compression tubes have dovetail scope mounts while others have Weaver.  As long as the diameter is the same they should work.  Most Crosman Nitro Piston guns are of the same diameter i roughly 25 mm.  The exceptions are the NPXL, NPSS, and NP2 series gun.  They are a larger diameter.

Just a quick check? The piston seals for the Vantage and the Quest 1000 are the same.
I'm going by the .177
I'd  say we are looking at the needed piston.
I'd actually be a little surprise if a piston change was even needed to be honest.

Also, a lot of times the different part #'s for comp tubes is due to the different model names that are etched onto the tube. Same tube, different name and part # to fit the particular application.

Tell you what. I have a parts Quest 1000 here.
I'll send you the parts just for shipping if you want to try them.
The metal spring guide I don't have but I could make a delrin guide that would work better anyway.
