With a little help from members here I got a peep sight to put On the new (to me) 312.
So I fiddle with a file to knock down the insert where it slides into the reciever behind the plate and install it. It sits a day and today goes with me to the indoor 10M range for a first sight in.
OK no lie, swear it! first shot not adjustment was 100% within the edges of a quarter size patch dot of a shoot and see. Just dead nuts on.
OK next two not so much but I just smiled so hard at that first green glow... Ahhhh all is good. I did adjust after the group showed an inch left poi.
I just couldn't believe that hit it was so cool. Wish the Mrs was there to witness it... None of the rest of that first five shot group touched it, but heck yeah!

Thanks a ton Tommy. I am not a tuner or metal working guy. not much besides basic wrenches to be found. Mr CJ here actually traded me for the 312. He's the one with the work to do. I am more likelyto to work in wood as far as AG's go. Been a tile guy my whole life. So I am more a fit and finish guy. Beauty was I didn't do a dang thing :-D
Awesome!
CJ here has work on the trade to build and tune....and blue. You should post some of that here somewhere it's looking Awesome!

That's great, I think my '79 blue streak wasn't too far off but definitely not this close.
I know when I put the diopter rear on my 880 it was pretty much right on, and that really surprised
me because I made a new teller front sight blade.

Glad I am not the only one. It seemed almost impossible, I almost skipped on posting it cause it just doesn't sound like it could happen.
