checked all the allens and screws. everything was tight. had 1000 psi in it. trigger was over 2# so i brought it down to 12 oz. i dont hunt, just bust iron and i like a light trigger. mounted the scope.
aired it up to 2900 psi.
loaded the hatsan 30 cal pellets. about 44 gr i believe. chronoed 5 shots. avg 863 fps.
@ 25 yds , one ragged hole.
adjusted poi @ 25 and then moved to 50 yds. cloverleaf 1" low.
i said screw this and loaded another clip and shot 5 @ 100 holding dead on. 1.6" group. this is well into the 4th clip of the fill and poi was about 10" low.
this is out of the box. only lightened the trigger to my tastes.
observations:
loud. the qe can't quiet this sucker. after 5 shots i put the muffs on :)
it is an accurate rifle as is.
the action is as rough as they come. my at44 tact is as smooth as they come
overall, visually a lower quality appearance than my at44 but thats just me and if a rifle is accurate.....i dont care what it looks like :)
the clip is poor quality. mine fits loose and has very sharp edges that i will break and polish. you have to be careful to push the pellets in a good ways or they will fall out and lock the action.
got some cast bullets from hunter supply to try before i start casting for it. the listing said "used by hatsans"
they are hard cast. they fit the mag fine but will not chamber completely. i pushed HARD and they will not load all the way. so.....i'll find my lightest 308 mold and cast a few from pure lead in the next couple of weeks.
i got this one as a refurb from fs for $599 and i am really happy. the rifle can only get better from here.
i was also surprised that this is a real 3 clip rifle (21 good shots) per fill. my bulldog 357 is a 5 shot rifle and i spend all my time filling it :)
so, i like it! i shoot 100-200 rounds per day so i'll concentrate on this rifle for the next week or so and see if the action smooths up any. if not, i'll take it apart and polish like a fool.
i havent touched the barrel and will not touch it as long as it shoots like this.
so far i've bought 3 hatsan pcps and all 3 are great shooters.

These rifles are beast! I bought a .30 cal as a refurb from FS during a sale for $466. It literally shot through my rubber mulch pellet trap, through 4 walls to my kitchen and shattered my glass oven door! My husband just about hit the roof when I told him after getting home from work! But as far as the bolt goes the cocking effort isn't bad at all and I use it strickly outdoors against the coons. Right now I'm shooting clipped tip Predator Polymags per what I learned from Southern Gunner. It seems to shoot these quite accurately despite having clipped the tips on the PPs to fit the rotary magazine. This is my big boy!
