Title: MAC1 scope mounts for Crosman
Post by: 45flint on March 27, 2018, 09:22:56 AM
I guess these are pretty common for Sheridans. I was on their site looking for “Secret Sause” and saw they had these for Crosmans as well.  Inventory showed 10 after I bought one it shows 9 now.  Sheridan inventory shows 60.  Don’t know how often they replenish their inventory?  Do they machine these mounts themselves?  These just seem to be the only quality alternative for Crosman mounts out there?  And the cantilever design gives a lot of options.  Sure made the postage on the “Secret Sause” seem more worthwhile.  We will see.

I also discovered them the other night after noticing the Sheridan's IA were back in stock, I had never seen these crosman mounts before on MAC's site, otherwise I would've bought at least one set instead of chasing around for two of the original clamp-on Crosman's and a Picatinny platform and offset rings I had to use for Bugbuster scope.

After shipping I paid not much less for one of those vintage Crossmans than what these mac1 crosman version cost, so I need to pick up at least one before they are sold out, even though they are still  pricey.... :o

They do seem pricey but the current Crosman mounts with one little screw holding it on the tube - ridiculous!  After a week experimenting with those I didn’t hesitate on the price, probably regret not buying two.

I ordered one right after I saw this posting go up.  I was notified that it was shipped.  There were 8 left after I ordered mine.  They will go fast.    I did not hesitate on the price.    I  have just purchased & received a 1979 Sheridan Silver Streak.     Best Wishes - Tom

P.S.  I just checked their web site and they now show 60 of these mounts being in stock.   ;D

Oh, you mean the 459MT, I have one of those in my Ebay watch list for years, never liked the design much, they probably are very easy to slip off alignment even with electrical tape lining, and also more difficult to align for cant, since you now have to work with two different separate mounts/adapters plus the barrel, the original vintage crosmans seem to be even more difficult, but I only learn to play with Cant after getting the Bugbuster, so I'm probably missing some 'tricks'. ;)

Sheridans show 60 in stock and the crosman's 8 left in stock after I just picked up a couple (plus one sheridan) just now, saved a few bucks on the shipping by placing one order for all three.

PS:Yesterday I couldn't figure out what was going on with Paypal at Macs site, turns out Paypal sends me back to his site to finish the transaction and had to create a new account with new email to complete purchase.... :o

My understanding from talking to Tim, is that Ingvar Alm was the machinist who produced the mount for Tim. Mr Alm just recently passed away, so Tim was looking for another machinist to continue production. The mount will continue being called the IA mount in honor of Mr Ingvar Alm. Hopefully he will find another quality machinist.
