Thats' a heck of a deal but I wouldn't have a use for it.
-
Who would have thought a pcp reaching the sub $100 mark?
-
Maximus was $80 from Walmart last year
-
Figures, I just bought one from PA last week for $129. However, mine has a slow leak, so it may be going back. There's so much plastic on it, I don't feel like opening it up to try to fix. While I wasn't expecting a high end gun, it's way cheaper feeling than I expected. Not sure how they can justify 2x the cost of a 1077.
-
i just bought one for my granddaughter....she will be pleased.
thanks Phil for putting this info in the bargain gate 8)

She'll probably be grinning from ear to ear when she gets it too !!!

WOW! That was a bargain.
I probably would have bought another one for $80.
How long did it stay at that price?
-
In the past I said if the Wildfire ever became available for less that $100, I'd grab one, but have reconsidered. I have a 1077 that doesn't get used, I feel the Wildfire would just occupy space as well... Maybe if they drop under $75...
-
Isn't the Wildfire a semiautomatic with a dual only action trigger?

It says you can shoot off 12 rounds as fast as you can pull the trigger!

Wayne,
Since when do we need a reason to buy another airgun? ;D
You think I have a specific use for all 21 of mine? ;D

Only 21? Dude.. you need to step up !!
-
I don't have use for more ;D
-
Ah, I remember way back when my collection numbered only 21 :) LOL
Jeff
-
Yeah me too... I think that only lasted a day or so.
-
Midway USA has the Fortitude on Sale for $254.99! Unfortunately, you can't pre-order and the sale will probably be over before they get them in stock, so I'm not sure why they bother advertising them as on sale! LOL!
Oops! Wrong thread! :-[

IMHO a guy would be better spending less on a 1077 and being somewhat impressed at what a cheap co2 can do than buying a PCP and being disappointed at what a "big shooter" can do.
Bang for your buck = 1077

The curiosity bug bit me so I put one in the cart along with a pellet order and received it yesterday.
Accuracy at ten yards was pretty poor for the first two mags. After getting used to the trigger I was able to squeeze out a few sub 1/2" groups and then I set out some tin cans. What a riot! I can see a lot of my cheap pellets getting used up with this thing.
I'll mount a low powered scope or red dot today and give the accuracy testing another go this weekend.

my granddaughters came yesterday also, we filled it up and she shot thru chrony to check speed. 1st was 679, #12 was 631 and declined thru 2 mags. it will never get 60shots as adverised, but she likes it !!. topped it off several times for her and put it away with
1600psi in it. this morning it had less than 1Kpsi so its leaking like all the reviews say.
she was shooting 3" spinners at 11yrds with 4x fixed cp scope.
paper punch'n for accuracy test today.... ;)

That's crazy the way these leak! You'd think the valve, poppet, air tube and fill port would be the same, if not very similar to the Maximus, and they don't leak. It's not like Crosman just entered the PCP market with this air rifle! For that matter, my 1077 doesn't leak, so what the heck is up with these Wildfires?
-
The Varmint/Stormrider have the same leaking characteristics. Maybe this gun has the same type o-ring issues

Maybe, but you'd think if Crosman has a proven design that has worked in many other PCP's, they'd just stick with it! Not sure why they would want to change it for a low end PCP when they probably have most the parts sitting on a shelf... But, one never knows...

Mine was put away yesterday afternoon at 1750psi. This morning it's around 1700.

here is her accuracy shots @ 11yrds....the trigger is getting harder to operate now.
its double action and its getting stiff and the mag and pin are plastic.
not too bad for a 7yo ;)

John... pretty sure some good O-rings would fix it up if you're so inclined to swap them out. If it's an accurate shooter is may be worth the work. Unfortunately, I don't know of anything to help those horrendous triggers. But hey... it's a $100 PCP repeater and it makes the GrandDaughter happy. I have a couple double action C02 pistols that are a fun to shoot.... same nasty triggers. They are definitely some lead and C02 eating machines.
-
o-rings would prolly fix the leaks but the DA trigger is getting harder to pull/work as more use comes. she already has to use 2 fingers to pull it and thats from a bench rest.
free-hand, broadside of a barn kinda accuracy....even with me !! :o
if it dont get better in the trigger operation, its going back.

Yeah... sounds like there may be a problem there.
-
leaked down last night from 1400 to below 500....
and she has got blisters on her fingers from pulling the trigger.
so its gotta go !!
-
If it hasn't by owner improved, it has a one-year warranty.
-
Mine has only lost about 100 psi after sitting for a week. I'll keep my fingers crossed.
