serviced my YH for the 2nd time (1st at .5hr) then now after 3hr run time. oil is clean, but changed anyway.
broke down the gold and pre-filter to find small amounts of discoloration of the tampons even on the output side of the gold filter :o so.....
might as well get the cookie pan out and dry the sieve.
whats the best way yall do this ?
i have read several ways but would like GTA pcp folks opinion on this.
i use this in a controlled environment but its always humid on the coast in bama

The recommended temperature for drying molecular sieve is about 480 deg F, for about 2 hours.

I describe how I dried my sieve, single layer of media, 450 to 500F. For this small amount, I found about 40 minutes seemed to get the job done. I base that ion weighing the material before and after. The following night I did put that dried material back in the oven for another two hours and the was no change in weight. I took that as evidence that all of the water was removed in the first run.
A toaster oven is perfect for this job. Not wanting to use the family oven, I picked a used one up at Goodwill for $5.

I wondered about a toaster oven when I started reading you reply rod, it sounds like they're just the ticket for this job. You can buy brand new ones at the dollar stores very cheap too.

+1 on using a small toaster oven. A microwave oven is not a good idea as it will deteriorate the molecular sieve. I use a shallow round pan and shake the beads around to no more than about 3 beads deep. Set the toaster oven on 400 degrees for 30 minutes and they will be bone dry. It actually takes no more than 15 minutes because the sieve in my filter never gets much moist.
This may sound repetitive, but a high pressure compressor needs an effective water separator to do most of the moisture removal. Any dive compressor, or the Air Venturi, Carette, and most other $1000 and over compressors use a water separator tower to extract nearly all of the moisture before it reaches the final filter. The small $300+ compressors like Yong Hengs, single piston Tuxing, etc. omit the water separator tower to sell at a lower price point. They do have a moisture bleed but without a tower to extract the moisture they send much more moisture to the final filter so the sieve saturates much faster. There is an add on moisture tower that can be purchased from Aliexpress for $142 shipped. It is a true moisture separator that really should be added to the small compressors and then the final filter would work as it should.
