Anyone shoot this as their main pellet and have any group sizes and ranges?
-
I don't have the Gauntlet however in my opinion the JSB18.13g is the best diablo style pellet out there!!!

Mainly use jsb 18.1, only change on gun was to up the regulator pressure to 1400. The gun hits a 2 in target very consistently at 50 yrds. At 80 yrds., the gun is still good, better then i am. Looking to install jsar kit soon.

That’s what I shoot out of my Gauntlet now, although I shot the 15’s initially. Went to the 18’s when I ran out of 15’s and it’s hard to tell the difference accuracy wise. The 15’ s are what I shot to qualify for the NUAH. My Gauntlet seems to shoot even the cheap Crossman’s well.

I shoot 18 gr JSB out of my Gauntlet and they are heads and tails better than the Crosman when shooting beyond 25 yards or so. I will still shoot crosman 14.3 when plinking in my backyard but if I head to the field I will be using JSB 18. I just increased my regulator output last night from the stock 1100 psi to around 1350 psi and my tune kit is in the mail coming from JSAR as I type this ;D, still trying to decide if I want to get the larger 23ci bottle....

When I first got my Gauntlet, I shot several pellets to see what the gun liked. The 15.89 JSB was 10 shots at 25 yards C to C in .353". The 18.13 JSB was 10 shots at 25 yards C to C in .363". I called one shot of the 18.13 pellets as high, but it was still in the group. Both pellets shot to the same point of impact for all practical purposes. Don't know if I can always shoot those groups as I only shoot on paper to sight in and find the best pellet. After that, I shoot reactive targets.

I shoot the 18.13gr and the 15.83gr and they hit the target consistently in the same group size but the 15.83gr stays a bit flatter. The issue I had was the 18.13gr above 900ft/s to be sure 920ft/s was not my unicorn speed for 100yrds
Below is a 20 shot group at 50yards

Dang it! Now I have to go buy some 15 gr JSB to see how they shoot, this airgun habit is getting more pricey than my fishing habit....not good.

Yes, I am an avid bowfisherman and it is my passion. But this airgun stuff is eating into my time on the water! Lol.

Not a lot of trigger time on my Gauntlet yet but so far it puts five JSB heavies .250 average at 25 yards, about .375 average at 35.
A bit too windy still for 50 yards but managed a few groups at around a half inch today, rest of the groups spread around 3/4 due to wind gusts.
Barracuda match 21.14 grain was just under an inch at fifty,so far JSB heavies shoot best.

A word of warning about AirArms 16 grain, I honestly think they're JSB rejects, a lot of them are dented up bad, this is the second time that I bought a 500 tin of them and they're definitely not from the same batch because the first batch I bought about a year and a half ago, both tins same same. I need to get me more of the 15.83 grain JSB's because they're good pellets. 18.13 just seem to shoot great in all my .22's and that's what I always use.

Here's some 3 shot strings I did earlier today at 40 yards. It's pretty clear my Gauntlet favors the 18.13 grain JSB's!

I need to see somebody shoot a 100 yrd target with the gaunlet. I want to compare it to my groups with the Bam.

Paul that's s great grouping for the 18.3gr. I wonder if the 15 gr and 14.3 gr groupings can shrink some more with minor hammer spring up/down adjustments. Take a note on that 18.3 gr favorite FPS speed though. It will be Wednesday hopefully before I could check pellet accuracy on my .177 Gauntlet using the cheap Crosman 7.4g, JSB 8 gr, Crosman and JSB 10gr with the hammer spring adjustment.
