Title: Fx streamline barrel support.
Post by: Gman on March 17, 2018, 02:48:01 PM
Was wondering if I can get a barrel support band for my streamline. I dont like the idea of it free floating.

Free floating is a good thing for accuracy.  You'll probably lose some if you added a barrel band...

Older models of FX rifles had barrel bands available.  Not sure and don’t think they will fit the Streamline.  You will lose accuracy the harmonics of the shots will be altered.  I know it looks weak and kind of weird in a way but trust me a free floating barrel is a benefit.

Thanks for reply. I know the accuracy is better just worry when out hunting I knock it.

For matches, yes a free llooating bbl is a +. Not a + in the dense woods. ;)

Many bands have an rubber "O" ring in them, giving much the best of both worlds.

Different systems for different needs! ;)

I have become fond of a tensioned barrel, not sure why more manufacturers don't do it. First on my matador and now my warp.  My warp has absolutely 0 poi shift or if it does it is so minute that I can't notice.  All of my other guns have had it to some degree (mutant was pretty darn good though).
