Was looking at this but crazy price, had make an offer assume a offer was made and accepted? Only up for a few days.
-
Crazy price for sure but really pretty pumper and the wood furniture is beautiful
-
Probably didn’t go that high? It had make an offer, when accepted that offer price doesn’t show just the asking price. But I bet it was pretty high.
-
That's definitely pretty high, but it must've been worth it for whoever has it coming.
That's unless this was one of those fake auctions where they have a friend bid it up really high on a few different accounts so someone is willing to pay this much when they sell it for real.
I'm thinking someone just really wanted it though.
-
That's a very sharp Sharp!
Other than what looks like a rub mark on the front sight ramp in pic #6, (could be just lint in photo), rifle looks brand new. I'd be curious to know how much it went for. Where's Marty? ;)
-
Not much to go on with regards to the sale; important details like days remaining etc. In fact by the looks of things no one placed a bid. The only clue is delivery March 20 which leads me to believe the auction ended quickly. My guess is it went much higher than the asking price.
-
I heard that it sold for $870. It would have been neat to have another great rifle in .20 cal.

That sounds right, Book is $500, but it shows with as new guns the book value is kind of useless cause they are so rare. It could be that the 20 cal makes it even rarer? Irony is that these are not rare in the Far East, the low prices of American pumpers kept out many higher priced foreign guns.
Very cool gun but plastic trigger. Hate plastic on guns.
-
Right. Sharps are routinely selling for more than $500 , now. I don't remember ever seeing a .20 Sharp , before ! That seems like a lot to pay,,, but I have more than that in some Sheridans.
-
Wonder if 20 cal was a Beeman thing? Could be really rare if that’s the case.

I don't know. I have a friend who collects Sharps, & will ask him. He may even be the one who bought this one.
-
People with more money than brains are what is driving the prices up. Can't hardly blame the seller. Heck, if you're willing to give me double what a gun is worth I'm gonna take the money and run.

Problem for a collector on rare items is “try to find another one”. This one was definitely sock worthy! (Except for the plastic trigger)
-
Some people spend all their money on golf, cars, women , etc., some spend it on air guns.
-
Bill, not necessarily. It is extremely hard to find any vintage rifle in great or excellent condition for $200 or less. Look at some of the less than desirables over on eBay or other similar online sites that are bringing much more. I think those examples fit the more money than brains scenario, although I would have to disagree that the same can be applied here.
-
There is a very nice " match " to Marty's Sheridan at auction, now.

No mention of 20 cal in the blue book? Beeman tried to bring exclusives at times?

On eBay?

I was referring to the Sharp listing for $950 + $30 shipping . Would you pay that for this rifle? Someone did obviously.
-
If I had the money, & I knew it was listed, I would have certainly made him an offer.
-
Then suffice it to say that there are folks that value them more than I. I have some really nice vintage guns and I shoot them all from time to time. I suppose I'm just not at the level that some are when it comes to collecting and preserving. I guess someone has to.

Simple answer for me is no. I saw it in plenty of time to make an offer but I knew $500 wouldn’t do it and not sure it’s worth $500 to me. Much rather go for another T&C at half the cost?

Agreed

I've 3 aces in .22 and a fair few innova's I wasn't aware of them doing a .20 my mate had a .25 but that had a harper barrel conversion
a very clean ace will fetch around £350 in the UK shame exporting them is so difficult
parts for them these days are very difficult and if the bolt retaining slide has been damaged you'll struggle to replace it
-
It's been relisted at a lower pric and an updated description. Says its labeled 5.0 cal but it is not.
-
Not bidding so you guys/gals can have it...well...maybe.
I can just see the 2 Steve's tripping over one another to see who get's to it first... ;D ;D ;D

2 aces in a week, what happens is a guy who owns one sees one go for $900 and he roles out his own quickly!! Not “as new”, like the first one. I’m not a player, my 108 would be jealous?

Read the description VERY CAREFULLY!!!

Read the description VERY CAREFULLY!!!
Come on Marty what you seeing? It’s a .177. But what I really don’t like is it says 30 day returns ON TOP, but down below it says no returns for buyers remorse? That’s interesting. I just hate it has a plastic trigger for that kind of money and the sight is said to be cheap as well. Tom Gaylord’s review is a good read.
I’m into cheap scopes right now!

All of it spells -RUN- to me.
