Title: Is This SAFE?

To the Expert Airgunsmiths Im in the process of lowering the fps of my Hatsan Nova .22. The first time I degas was to shoot it till a hissing sound came out of the valve. Do I need to degas all the time or its safe to disconnect from the airtube?

I am not an expert,but i don't see any risk if your work is in the hammer-hammer spring side.I see the valve is secured on the shift block,just avoid to fall the charged power plant on the ground.
