Title: Daisy model 99
Post by: mac on February 01, 2018, 06:15:02 PM
Kind of forgot that I had this until finding it again while cleaning the garage today.I bought it at a yard sale in about 1981 or 82. The spring in the shot tube went to heck quite a few years ago and it got put away in the garage loft and forgot about.
The best I can tell from some research is that it is a 1974 model 99 and from what I have read on here a shot tube from a new model 25 should work.It still pushes a little air when cocked and shot so I think I will try and go through it and refinish the wood.

Any model 25 shot tube from the last 80 years should go right in. You may need to replace them dried out rubber seals though.

The model 25 shot tube is part number 169866-000 Shot tube.

You can reseal your 99 using parts made for the current model 25:

130225-100 Plunger head $1.50 each
130126-100 Barrel seal $1.00 each
150272-100 Air Tube $1.50 each (not needed if buying the Red Ryder plunger assembly)
132938-000 Plunger pin $0.25 each (not needed if buying the Red Ryder plunger assembly)

Pretty fair chance the spring will be sacked at least 1/2" but hopefully it's not distorted the way some will do (see photos below for what a bad one looks like!). If you wanted to hedge your bet, order a Red Ryder plunger assembly and that'll get you a new spring, air tube and air tube pin. Part number is 169750-000 Plunger assembly, cost is $4.00.
