I can't believe the amount of PCPs that we don't get here in the US.
I just learned of the Sumatra Eagle Claw

I for one would love to get me one of those in .25 cal and sure would look into a .30 if they made one
Pyramyd,....are you considering bringing this gun in ?
-
Looks like a nice little gun.

Someone helping off forum sent some pics, Id never seen them either. Also Snipe and Sparrow, .22/95fpe and .25/118fpe that are like Recluse versions in smaller cal.
-
Looks like they make the Eagle Claw in .22 & .25, long & carbine versions available.

Like the carbine version.

Like the carbine version.
me too...
-
Me three!
What would really be great, would be the long version air tube on the carbine version. Looks like the carbine barrel & the long gun air tube length would be about the same length.
-
Wouldn't it be nice if Pyramyd imported them ?

definitely !!!

My question would be "Why not?"

These things take time, but I can tell you that pyramyd is currently looking at these very closely. The samples I’ve seen look good.

YEAAAH !! ..thanks Tyler,
Put me down for a .25 :) :)

I saw this awhile back in my Sumatra Carbine manual. The ergonomics look great.
-
those FPE numbers are amazing
-
Nice looking rig ;) 8) 8)
-
My opinion.. I think it looks way better than the Sumatra 2500..

Do you/anyone... have a link for the snipe and arrow, where they can be found?

Shrouded barrel w/ a pic rail. Hooray!

Another gun added to the wish list!

the Sam Yang Eagle Claw is available since the end of 2016. Sam Yang makes it in .177/4,5mm, .22/5,5mm and .25/6,35mm.
It has an adjustable power and a shrouded barrel, but makes at maximum power a lot of noise. It is very easy to use this air rifle in single shot.
The magazine can be put in the air rifle, without cocking the air rifle. The magazine has a safety and a fire mode. So you can lock the magazine and uncock the Eagle Claw. The magazine will load a new pellet if it put on 'fire'mode and the air rifle is cocked.
Unfortunately this air rifle has some malfunctions: the scew thats fixes the barrel on the front comes loose: easy to fix by yourselves. And the magazines have a production error. They will fall out of the air rifle when shooting on maximum power. new magazines will be available in March. Mine Eagle Claws (in .22 and in .25) are at maximum power not so accurate as my Sumatras and my Golden Saver, but they are more powerfull.

My Sam Yang Eagle Claw
-
John, what ammo do you shoot out of your Eagle Claw? I wonder since you say the Eagle Claws are stronger shooters than your Sumatras & Saver, if the velocities are too high, causing inaccuracy. Maybe a heavier pellet/slug to slow down the velocity? Also, how long is the air tube on your long Eagle Claw?
I still think it would be bad @$$ to put the .25 long gun air tube on a .25 carbine. Still giving you a short, agile, powerful carbine with a larger air capacity. If it all fit where the barrel & the air tube were the same length. Similar to how a tactical shotgun looks.
The long gun's barrel is just a tad under 20.75" vs. 16.8" for the carbine.

In the Eagle Claw .22 I use Sam Yang Pellets: 'domed' and "spils'. In the .25 I use also the Sam Yang domed [298 m/s] and Spits [285 m/s] pellets and casted Slugs 51 grains.
I lost my data about de .22 and the .25 slugs :'(
The Eagle Claw makes a lot of noise. Sam Yang doesn't make a moderator for this air rifle. So I have to make an adaptor for mounting a silencer.
You have to get used to shoot and handle this air rifle. It is very different from the Sumatra and e.g. Hatsan. Once you are used to shoot with the Eagle Claw it's a great hunting rifle: single shot, a magazine that can be locked so you safely can uncock the air rifle and cock again without loading a second pellet in the barrel, put the magazine in without cocking, put an extra pellet in the barrel and put a full magazine in gives you one extra shot. (Here it is not allowed to hunt with air rifles.)
When shooting at maximum power, the power adjuster sometimes gets stuck. Easy to fix: simlpy try to push back the adjust wheel a bit or use a small plastic hammer.
-
As far as I know Sam Yang makes the Eagle Claw also in Carbine lenght.
They had no plans making a .30 or a .357 version.
-
I'd bet that in the hands of Will Piatt, he could really improve the Eagle Claw. He's a master with Koren airguns.
Do you know the length of the long gun air tube?

John,
Thanks for really excellent info.
I am waiting when someone will taste 25gr JSB Jumbo Monsters REDESIGNED at 70+ yard.
I am pretty sure they will shot them sub MOA at 950 FPS after cat free barrel band.

Was yours one of the early releases ? those seem like new production guns problems and hopefully the manufacturer did some fixing in later models.
......note, 35gr domed .25 cal EunJin pellets never have been accurate on any gun of mine and never heard they been accurate on any gun.

but the 43.2gr eunjin pellets are awesome on high power thru my sumatra 8)

Correct, the difference in accuracy between the 43gr Pointed and the 35gr Domed is mind boggling, 43gr mostly very good, 35gr Horrible

That's getting really close to .22lr territory.
-
My Eagle Claws are from one of the first production runs.
I am sure that Sam Yang will solve these isues. They have invested a lot in this design and of course want a return on their investments.
I haven't disassabled one of the Eagles: too bussy working. So I don't know who to change one in .30 / .308 or even .357.
Scope mounts shoud be the highest model, otherwise there is no room left for the magazine.

Seen quite a few changes from the first versions we saw to the latest samples. They are making changes/improvements that I hope will appeal more to the end user. These models are definitely high on my radar for this year.
-
+1 on hoping Pyramyd picks up this rifle for distribution.

That's great Tyler,
I know in today's climate talking dates is kinda dangerous :) :) .....but would you have a ballpark idea when the Eagle Claw will be in at Pyramyd ;)

Nope. Got some more changes we would like to see before we get into availability.

OK, I can wait,...I'm in no rush :) :) :)

Just a reminder, Manny.
