Polished my factory hammer on my SynRod and was cleaning it with brake cleaner when I noticed a little part fall out of it. Was the acetal pin, #27 on the parts diagram. Nighttime, fell into a pile of leaves. Didn't know it had an acetal thing in it. Now I do. Can I just Vibratite the stiker for now? What does the acetal pin do?

A better option would be to replace it with a small piece of string trimmer/weed whacker line.
The acetal pin fits in a recess inside the hammer, it sits a little proud in its hole, when you screw the striker into its recess the pin contacts the threads and keeps the striker from screwing itself in or out from shot cycle vibrations.

It prevents the throw adjustment from moving, like a nyloc nut. Cut a small piece of weed wacker line such that it sticks out above the blind hole it sits in, looking through the striker threads. Run the striker in. Should be fine.
Vibratite typically won't hold up in this application. It tends to peel off after a few adjustments.
PS: Looks like Blue beat me to the draw. ;)

Thanks guys. I see that logic now. I even have a couple of sizes of the cord around here.
Does anyone remember the punchline to the Boudreaux/Thibideaux LSU "what is logic" joke where Thibideaux asks the question, "Boudreaux, do you own a weedeater?" :D :D

That weedeater cord worked better than the acetal pin.
