Title: Sightron SIIISS 10-50x60 Field Target Scope ?
Post by: Gwelo on January 07, 2018, 06:53:38 PM
Looking at Sightron's website raises a question about the parallax on this scope.

In their general description of the SIII Field Target Series is this statement "Precision parallax adjustment between 9 and 55 yards provide accuracy for precise ranging".

The specifications for each of the 3 FT models lists the parallax at: 10 yards to 300 yards.

Since the FT models come with a 5" sidewheel, I would take the above to mean the 9 yd to 55 yd indexing is more precise but the scope still ranges out to 300 yds??

Any current/past owners out there with experience are welcome to comment.

I will be using the scope for benchrest and silhouette out to 100+ yds so would like the sidewheel, the 1/8 moa clicks and the closer focus. The other SIII 10-50x60 models have 1/4 clicks, no sidewheel and 13 yd to infinity parallax. I can get the FT model for the same price so the added value is attractive.

Thanks!
Nick

The older FT versions had the parallax set at 9 yards minimum. The newer FT versions are now set at 10 yards minimum. If you bought the older version, you can send it back to Sightron to change the parallax for no charge.

Thanks for the reply.

Does the sidewheel focus beyond 55 yards?  Can/could it be focused out to the advertised 300yds?

The 10 yard minimum parallax allows you to focus out to 300 yards.
