I'm brand new to the forum as a member but have been reading some of the discussions when I decided to get back into airguns. I would like to relate something to members that imo stands out as nothing short of GREAT customer service. A number of years ago I came into possession of a 1992 model Crosman 1377. When I got the gun the grips were wrapped with black tape so I assumed they were either cracked or badly worn so I just left the tape on them. It got stored away and almost forgotten about until I started reading about them on here. I got it out of storage and to my surprise it still pumps up to pressure and shoots strong so I decided to replace the grips and clean the gun up. When unwrapped all the tape the grips were in fine shape, but here the kicker, they didn't fit the frame. The screws were in them but no matter how you positioned them they would not cover the frame. The hunt was on for the correct grips. Crosman sent me a parts diagram for that years model but the grips were the same as I had already. I called Crosman and was told that those grips would fit, but I have the proof in front of me that they were WRONG! Next I started trying service centers, I'm not going to call them out by name but one told me I didn't know what I was talking about, another wanted me to mail him the gun and he would "try" and find a set of grips. I finally contacted Michael's lock, stock, and barrel aigguns in Alabama (should of known to go with a good southern guy first time). I sent him a couple of pictures of the gun with the grip I had laying on it and within half an hour he had the problem and this morning he had the solution. When crosman switched form the round breech cover(which mine is) to the current bolt action some of the 1377s had a different design for the grip frame. Its referred to as a variant 2 style and the grips have a different contour. once he figured that out, he contacted a dealer he knows who has the style grip and forearm to match that need I and in about 2 weeks I should have them.
James is who I dealt with at Michaels he was taking time to email me updates at 9:30 last night. if you want service which these days is rarely seen next parts or information you need give him a try. I bet your service is as good as mine or better
