I put together a kit for the Gauntlet it includes a new poppet, hammer spring, spacer and RVA this will reduce cocking effort substantially!!! And increase shotcount substantially also. The below string was done with stock gun except fore mentioned parts. Stock 13ci tank and regulator raised to 1300 psi or 50psi from stock as tested by myself.

Well over a ton of fpe for a 13ci tank, now that’s more like it. Very nice work, Travis!

Thanks Jason!!! Man do I hate running long strings this string alone took 31 minutes pacing myself between shots. That brings the FPE/cuin per shot to nearly 1.5 from well below 1.0 stock and man is it easier to cycle now, my wife had no problem cocking it at all where as before she couldnt and I even double loaded it several times because of that stiff stock spring.

OK...big plus for your post.
AT LAST....a Gauntlet that gets good efficiency.
That's what regulation is suppose to do. Not just "more shots" but a "CARP LOAD more shots" without being an air hog.

Thank you! This with the trigger mods has greatly improved how the gun functions while shooting and Im not even talking about the efficiency or muzzle report Im just talking about cycling and firing it. The whole thing feels 100% better. I did crank the RVA in and it exceeded 900 FPS with the CP 14.3 and backed it out to 700 FPS just for those who want to know.

That excellent work Travis...
Now how do I go about getting a couple of those kit from you...?
I have 2 Gauntlets in the .22 cal.. and all stock.

Interested in this kit plus the trigger mods for my 177 Gauntlet but I'm not a tinkerer. How difficult is it to install for a novice?
Thanks,
Jim

James the kit requires tearing the gun down to the valve so though not hard it does require some skill but I also provide a tuning service to install and tune it.
-
When will the kits be available and what is the cost? I'm interested in getting one for a 177 and 22 cal.
-
Travis,
Thank you for the information. We have to recover from some unexpected medical expenses before I can do anything else airgun related but I will be contacting you.
Thanks,
Jim

Travis,
My wife has to have another (unexpected) surgery on her foot. This will be the 3rd since February 2017 but, of course, the deductibles rolled over 1/1. Not serious as surgery goes but all surgeries carry some risk.
Thanks,
Jim

Very impressive work Travis! Way to make the Gauntlet shine.

This may be a stupid question but my Gauntlet is pretty accurate in stock form. What do these mods do for accuracy?
-
Holy COW! Those mods coupled with a .5L tank and you'll be shooting a tin of pellets per fill! LOL! Great work tweaking the Gauntlet!
-
Nice that’s a bunch of useful shots!!!

In theory less cyclic vibration would aid in keeping the muzzle on target. Thats another reason I dislike over sprung guns.

You read my mind..
I have ordered all the parts that you have listed plus the 23ci tank x's two..
Cant wait for this kit to be made available for purchase...
Thanks guys for all your hard work and knowledge.

Looks great, please keep all of us posted on cost and what's involved as a DIY project.

Ok you got my attention!
But I would rather have the rifle shooting at 890-920 and lose some shots, Doable Travis?
Talk to me Chief :)

When I cranked in the RVA I went over 900fps but I didn’t run a string. So yes it’s very possible

Congrats Travis great work!

Travis, you need to send one of those Kits to Haj so he can do one of his awesome tutorial videos on the installation of the kit!

Nice work Travis,
I only got about 70 shots from my .22 caliber QB79 HPA ........... 33% more would be nice ;).
-
When are these kits coming out? I want one to go along with my 23ci tank. Would be awesome to get like 170 shots at 840fps and close to 100 shots for 900fps on 14.3 hp. I think I pmed you for the waiting list. Just checking.

I'm not getting nowhere the 105 shots like oldpro but got 82 regulated shots with stock everything besides adding a second larger diameter but shorter hammer spring overlapping the stock spring. So I couldn't wait for the his kit so I remember in another one of his thread about the gauntlet shot strings he mention something about using 2 hammer spring and I tried it with a spring I got home depot's 84 everbuilt assortment springs kit. I have no idea of the lb of the spring but I believe it was the 11/32 diameter x 1 inch spring in the pack. It's basically one the larger diameter one that when fully compress still allows the rifle to be cock. I used it with the stock spring. It's worth a try for those who want more shot count. YMMV.
