Its that time again and the above candidates have been chosen by Us the public. These candidates as voted by the GTA members have through their efforts been picked from many people as the ones who have shined above the rest. Once a year 1 candidate is selected to be forever enshrined in the Hall of Fame, This person who through their efforts of sharing embodies everything that is good about the GTA and its vast family. Good luck to all and just having your name on the list is indeed Big praise.
-
;) You left out all of the above. This years choices make deciding who to vote for extremely tough.

Yes, all very important, contributing GTA members 8).
-
Okay, even though all the nominees are unquestionably good choices, I will commit.
I give it to Lloyd, not only because he is a heck of a nice guy and very humble and unassuming (at least when I met him), but I believe he has been a friend, contributor and probably mentor for everyone else on the list.
-
I feel that all of the nominees on the list this year are deserving of the win! But, I am staying true to my word and am casting my vote for Travis for his many tangible contributions to our sport. My Marauder is better than ever before due to his efforts.
I do want to thank all that are on the list this year because I have learned much from all of you. I do wish each of you the best of luck and a Happy New Year!
Keith
-
Lloyde , the man behind the curtains that enabled us to move forward !
Thanks you Lloyd,
Mitch
-
This is not an easy thing to do. I have learned a lot from all of these members. Everyone listed is well deserving of this honor, but I'm sticking with my first choice of Bob Sterne. Maybe we need to vote like the Romans did, by dropping different color rocks in a jar. ;)
Tom
-
Lloyd get my vote.... It's his shoulders most stand on, IMO.... certainly I owe him a lot....
Bob
-
Honored to be among these other FINE GTA members ....
As i had stated on the original thread perhaps some recognition where these few honored members ALL GET Acknowledged ....
How about something more long lasting in the view of others on the forum such as ...
Replacing "OLD TIMER" with "Honored Contributor" or like recognition for those select few who are in founder Genes own words ... A Cut Above ;)
Or perhaps Both ....
Humbly suggested,
Scott
-
congrats to all who made the final's. I voted for Motorhead because he reflects my interest in springer's. How about a Person of the Year for different categories????
-
Congrats to all the nominee's !!! Please vote everyone, I noticed not many have voted yet and it would be nice if more people voted especially considering the amount of members on the forum ???
-
I would support Scott's proposal of replacing "Old Timer" with "Honoured Contributor" for all Nominees.... JMHO....
Bob
-
Done....
-
It would probably be a lot of work but many members ( myself included) only view a few gates so I’d suggest a banner or sticky on each page to direct attention to this in my eyes very important induction voting.
-
Looks like Rocker1 is closing the gap, yay!!
No disrespect to the front-runner, whose work I do greatly admire, but I have Rocker1 products on every PCP I own (other than the ones with factory LDCs), and on a few CO2 guns, as well, and that has opened up worlds of shooting otherwise unshootable. I tend to vote for the candidate that makes my life better, and the sooner, the better, lol. Quiet guns make happy shooters, hunters, neighbors, and so on!
Good luck, David!!

A fine choice of candidates made voting difficult!
-
ALL of the nominees are very well deserving. I wish I could vote for all 5. David helps folks every day by making excellent products for us to better enjoy our sport. The difference with him though is he charges just over cost, he does it for the love of it, not to make a living. Most of us know it's almost impossible to make a living off of making airgun parts. And David is here each and every day for MANY hours behind the scene. We should be very thankful he gives so much of his time for the forum and it's members. I certainly am because I see his daily contributions. Along with all of the other volunteer staff.
But like I said, ALL 5 are very notable contributors to our sport and this forum. And are deserving of the title. I am honored to have you all here!!!!
Good luck.
-
Best of luck to all. Rocker has my vote due to the fact he has assisted me quite a bit and has made some awesome LDC For a few of my guns.
Good luck to all nominees.
-
I`m glad to see all the nominees in the list because it reflect the implication and devotion of the candidates is significant for those that follow the forum... My vote is register and I wish good luck to all the nominees...
-
From my heart, THANK YOU to all the nominees . I have learn from each one ;D
::) some one should nominate Mrs Sterne, she buys him a rifle and sends him to the shop to evaluate it it for us addicts,
ON CHRISTMAS DAY!
-
Congrats to all inducted. Being new it would not be fair to pick anyone. Next year I will with some time on this forum under my belt. CHEERS!
-
My congrats to all mentioned. But my vote goes to Lloyd. All of these men have taught me something and all deserve this attention. But sorry guys, LLOYD RULES!!!
-
Wow, so many EXCELLENT choices. How does one chose. I wish I could vote for them all.

I hate to ask too much, but is there anyway to find out a bit more about each nominee? Is there a short bio on each member?
I spend a great deal of time in the hunting gate. While I'm familiar with all the names up for vote, I don't really know what they do/have done as to their contributions. I know they are all experts in their respective areas of knowledge, but I bet there are quite a few members here at the GTA, like me, that are not in "the know" as to who each member is.
Thank you.
-
Just throwing it out there, but how about a category for vendor of the year.
Tom
-
Someone spelled oldpro's last name wrong, but we know him best by his expert knowledge and willingness to share it helping others.
-
I've been thinking about this all afternoon. The GTA has so many "Shining Stars" I find it remarkable that the list was able to be narrowed to just five individuals. I have selected Rocker1 as my choice. Primarily due to the fact I am well aware of the hours behind the scenes that he contributes to the forum. As each and every one of these fine individuals deserve our recognition, I support adding that recognition below their avatars.

Thx LOL I cant even spell my own name right!!!
-
Because I'm so new to the forum and have been out of action healthwise, I didnt recognize many of the names listed. Perhaps I could've had better recall if their profile images were next to their name. Even then it would be a hard call becaus EVERYBODY has been so kind and helpful on the forum topics that I participated in. Therefore, my vote and deep gratitude goes out to those members that took the time to respond to my questions and shared their first hand experience with humor & laughter which endednup saving me countless hours trying to find those answers that were not readily available otherwise. So my vote goes to all of the awesome members of this great forum. So many thanks and Congratulations to the winner.
Ps. I haven't been around much due to health issues, but I hope that some remission comes my way so I can chat, learn, share, & laugh with all of you sooner than later.
Much love! - Tom
-
I voted for Bob Stern, not only because of the wealth of interesting and useful info he posts here, but because Bob is very responsive to questions, even from PCP novices like me.
I have enjoyed learning from all those on the list and wish I did not have to choose just one.
-
Thank you, to each and everyone of you for your hard work!
-
Yeah, Travis can't spell.... Stern is the back of a boat.... *LOL*....
Bob STERNE
-
Rocker1 Gets my vote. All are Great people on a Great Site. Geno Midwest
-
Yeah, Travis can't spell.... Stern is the back of a boat.... *LOL*....
Bob STERNE
And I was so careful to get it right that I copied and pasted your name, directly from the poll. OOPS.
-
Yeah, Travis can't spell.... Stern is the back of a boat.... *LOL*....
Bob STERNE
DOAH....Fixed....This is what happens when and old sailor who lived on a Ketch for years gets involved. And it had a Stern castle so my mind does wander a bit.
-
My vote went to David (Rocker1), and I'm sure all my neighbors are just as thankful as I am of the superior products he offers us here on GTA! LOL! David as been a great mentor/teacher as I have fallen head first into AG's and he has become a respected friend as well. Thank you again for all you do for us, both seen and unseen!
-
I took some time to consider my vote as well. Very difficult. I couldn't eliminate anyone from the top honor so I couldn't go that route. It finally came down to (in my opinion) who sacrifices the most to the good of the forum and it's members as a whole. The rest of them have, no doubt, generously contributed to the sport. I am equally grateful to all 5 of the nominees for the knowledge that I've gained from all. I don't think I need to publically announce my vote. Congrats to all candidates... well deserved.
-
BTW.... I just noticed the status change under my avatar..
thank you
-
Being a relatively new comer to this group, it wouldn't be fair for me to vote. but I would like to say that so many members have been helpful that I now consider them as friends/buddies. Good luck to all the nominees. :)

It was a tough choice but I had to go with RSTERN. Most of the mods I have done have been because of his threads on the forum. Congats to all that made the list you have all contributed greatly and your contributions are greatly appreciated.
-
I want to vote for Hector Medina.
Consider this a write-in vote, I'm sure all the other fellows are worthy, but Hector takes it to another level, IMHO. 8)

What a great list. in my mind, I voted all the above, sad I could only choose one. I do like the idea of breaking it out into two categories for future vote. Those that have interest in PCP, Co2, pumpers fit in one group and break barrels are another. A person can certainly be in both. Seems to me that PCP side gets the most focus in these votes. Just food for thought.
I want to personally thank all of you nominated for all of the great insight you share with us.
-
My vote for Bob Sterne aka Rstern
-
Always like to see ideas, suggestions and recommendations. But I will also say this is voting for the GTA Person of the Year. We will not have a PCP Person, Pumper Person, Springer Person, etc...
:)
So, keep that in mind as you cast your vote. This is for a person that has contributed to the entire forum, not just any one particular area.
And vendors are eligible for this also. I am still milling over the idea of a vendor of the year award too.
VERY good idea IMO. Those that show the best continued support of GTA Forums.
Hmmm.....
::)

I like that idea, it would certainly promote stellar customer service!

Vendor of the year is not a bad idea

Vendor of the year is not a bad idea
Good plan! Not just service & support, but general airgun help to our members. (The good Lord knows I need all the help I can get) LOL
-
Jack, I read your comment to my wife.... she said you made her day.... and added....
"the worst thing you can do to a kid is give him a present and not let him play with it on Christmas Day".... bless her !!!

The only reason you are in is because people are afraid you will change their avatars. LOL

Your humility is admirable, David, but the fact is, day-to-day, more of us here on the GTA benefit from YOUR products and services (and admin duties) than all the pie-in-the-sky, new-fangled idea guys combined. Your shop brings more smiles to more of us here than many realize because soooo much of what you do is done quietly, behind the scenes, without attention-grabbing fanfare. I do love the work the other guys do here, but honestly, you have a positive effect on more air guns and air gunners here than anybody else on the site, as far as I can tell. You deserve not only to be on the 'list', but to win the competition, too! ;-)
Best of luck!!!!

;) David in all honesty you deserve to be there. That being said if it was recognition for being a mean old goat you would win hands down.
PS ; I am also confused by the low vote count

Do you have a link to his site?

David does not have a website...yet. Check the GTA Mall page and you will see him listed under the heading Professional Airgun Tuners. You can click on his name to send him an email. Or send a pm by clicking on the message tab under his avatar.
:)

Wanted to say thanks to Bob Sterne for all his contributions to the airgun world over the years. I admit being a little biased, being a fellow Canadian, but I was proud to give him my vote! Anyone that likes tinkering with PCP's most likely has spent hours reading about his projects here and on other forums.
Thanks Bob! All the best to the other contenders as well and thanks for all you do to make this forum so great!
-
Ok guys 14436 members on this site and we have 193 members voting. So show some support to your candidate. Seriously not hard to click on one above. David

Congratulations Bob, well deserved and I can't think of a person more worthy of the honor.
Bob, I went looking through some old emails to remind myself that we have been friends, and talking about airguns, for almost seven years. Wow, time flies. We were talking on the Canadian airgun forum and I had brought up the topic of PCP air efficiency, and you presented a slightly different point of view, which ultimately proved to be correct (as is usually the case). I remember thinking, "a fellow technical geek who really knows his stuff, and can present it in a very understandable way." How great is that ?!!
Shortly after that, you joined the GTA and since then have been one of the most tireless, unselfish, and technically knowledgeable hands-on contributors to the GTA. You have been an inspiration to me.
I thank you very, very much.

Great post Lloyd. Very well said.
-
Lloyd, thanks for the kind words.... I think we tend to bring out the best in each other.... and I am glad to call you a friend and fellow techno-geek.... I hope your induction to the HoF follows soon, as you are the "tireless guy who works in the background".... whose shoulders we all stand on....

This year's candidates were all the upper tier and choosing just one winner was difficult to say the least . I am happy that Bob was chosen while eagerly awaiting next year's nominees
