A couple years ago I bought a Grizzly G0765 7x14 lathe and it worked well but I had some issues with it so decided to move it on. After a year without a lathe I got the itch again and I found this like new Craftsman lathe on Ebay. It was a pickup only deal and about two hours from me so I bid on it and won it. I t came with the nice steel table, milling vice, a broken steady rest and that was about it. everything was basically there except the crossfeed and tool holder. I searched around and placed a wtb ad on Craigslist and lo and behold an older gentleman contacted me and said he had a lot of parts for these. I purchased a set of nine gears, the rest of the milling items, bits etc from him for a very reasonable price. I also bought a few items from LMS, Ebay etc. I now have it all set up and have enough gears I am able to cut std and metric threads. I love this little lathe. It runs so quiet and smooth and does everything I need to do with one. I only wish it had a bigger thru bore but it is what it is. Here are a few things I made with it.
Power adjuster for my Cricket .25 with metric threads, a sizing die for cast bullets, buttoned my FWB piston, several moderators, various bushings, knobs for the lathe itself, etc.

I must say I'm a bit jealous. But happy for you. Looks like a good find.

Looks like a later model 6 x 18 ? .... Did you get a manual with your lathe?.... If not it would be worth looking for one on eBay, etc....

Hi Bob
Yes I received a manual with it. It is a 6x18 and is called the MKII and was made in 1978 according to the serial number. The guy that had it made the table which has a 1/2" thick steel top and all steel legs, shelf, drawer etc. All welded together, its a heavy sucker. I added the top and back.

Those Atlas/Craftsman 6x18 (lathe 1st series and MKII) are nice little lathes. Even have a backgear. 8)
