Title: Air Arms updated the TDR.
Post by: Tweeter on December 06, 2017, 03:44:44 PM
I like the idea of an s510 TDR with the sidelever but 15 shots per fill!  Good lord Air Arms, use a larger air tube and slap a reg. in it and the s510's would sell like hotcakes all over again I bet!

I can't see too many people wanting this in the FAC version with all the bullpups floating around.  I almost bought one some months ago before I came to my senses and bought a bullpup lol.  This would make a nice little sub-12fpe pest gun though...

I get that they make these guns for the UK market and just convert them to high power.  The funny thing is it has space to hold 2 extra mags +1 in the breech so you'll have to refill the gun twice just to shoot the 3 mags lol.

I always liked the AA TRD because of the ability to break it down to a compact package. But I didn't know it got so few shots per fill.

Can't for the life of me understand just why AA refused to install a REG. in their guns. The shot string is very much less than stellar. Otherwise a very accurate rifle. Oddly enough, the Galahad is supplied With a REG.  :o

Just out of curiosity: Who tunes/works on Air Arms?

I am confused.
My AA S400 went from 200 bar to about 150 in 20 shots. And that seems to be getting into it's sweet spot.
Something doesn't add up for the TDR. It should just be a different stock configuration to make it a Take-Down Rifle

I'm new to PCP's and I was looking heavily into the Air Arms stuff. Especially the s510. It fits all the criteria for my uses. And it is a beautiful looking PCP.

I think I've settled on an FX streamline instead. It fits all the criteria as well and offers a regulator to give me more shots between fills while I'm out hunting.

I like the Air Arms and will definitely have to get one later, but for now I'm going to "maximize" my dollar to performance/feature ratio.

Bought one 8-10mo ago, sent it back to PA Very disappointed with such a hi dollar gun. Gorgeous stock and bluing but I was not impressed with its preformance. I love my Compatto.22 MUCH MUCH MORE!!!
Matter of FACT my Compatto is my favorite .22  But, the TDR is a nice gun just not for me.

Take care Fellas

If they updated the Galahad I might like to try one.  A bigger shroud, airtube (to close that huge gap if for no other reason) and use the s510 sidelever and it would be a sweet gun.

Pretty sure it has a smaller airtube than even your s400 carbine (which has a bit smaller tube than the s510 carbines).
