Title: Spa M10 / M11 meets the "Beast"
Post by: Gertrude on November 13, 2017, 03:09:39 AM
A few of us got together at our regular permission this weekend for a little fun. We had a blast as usual on Saturday, and we ended up having five M10 / M11 conversions on the firing line to play our new game of "3 Ball".
I think Craig got a couple of good pics with the Spa guns all on the firing line.
Hopefully he can share the pic here.

I lost my "tail" this time on the "3 Ball", and was basically a "Contributor / Donater" this weekend. I lost around $8 or $10 bucks, but it was well worth it for the great time spent with friends.

I ended up staying the night to try for some Rabbits and maybe even a unlucky Coyote, but the critters all seemed to be strangely absent on Saturday night. I stayed up till around 3:30 am and never even heard any Yotes off in the distance in any direction. Odd,... I normally hear them yipping and yodeling several times throughout the night.

I hit the sack,  and this morning I had the range all to myself.
I had been to Mac1 earlier in the week to get my tanks filled and Tim had the JSB Jumbo BEASTS in 33.9 grain. So I picked up a few tins,as I have been wanting to try these heavy weights out for a while.

I have to say. These guns are pretty impressive in both power/performance.
Hope you enjoy the pics.

Heres a 10 shot group shot a 50 yards.
Tethered at 3000 psi, on a bipod, rear sandbag, and rock solid no wobble bench

Granted, It may not win any official target competitions,
but Not too bad, for a under $300 Chinese hunting gun I'd say !
With it touching on 70 FPE, I'd have no problems using this gun on Coyote up to 100-125 yds.
These .34 gr JSB Beasts are on the mark in my opinion.
I'll be picking up more of them this coming week.

Wow,  exactly that is my long time wish.  Can you persuade my wife that I need also SPA  Artemis M22 at .177 for shooting up to 150 yd.
How did you reach so high power ?

How did you reach so high power ?

We didn't really do that much to the stock guns.
First we took the original M10's and converted them to M11 repeaters. Then we used to supplied larger transfer port, adjusted the valve for maximum power, then we added an extra spring (from the local hardware store) placed inside of the stock hammer spring.
 The results are pretty impressive.
A .22 cal airgun, (using retail sold pellets), touching on 70 FPE, is pretty extraordinary in my book.
Then to get a fairly decent shot string, and deliver them quite consistently on target is the icing on the cake !

The factory LDC is quite impressive too. I removed mine for several shots, and it was just about as loud as a standard .22 long rifle powder burner. The factory LDC tames the bark down more than you might expect. a couple of the guys are starting to tinker a bit with the LDC in an attempt to get them even quieter.

The next time I tear mine down, I'll probably add a bottle brush depinger, and I MAY even see if we can modify the valve to squeeze out even a little more. I'd like to get these JSB Beast pellets up to around 1020 to 1040 FPS.

Wow,  It seams that all my wishes are yours  today or  soon reality.

My firs wish is increase power  44 to only 54 FPE  at my regulated 160bar JKHAN/ NxWerks  Noblesse to be able to shoot Monsters 25gr at 985 FPS .
https://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?topic=127317.0 (https://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?topic=127317.0)

25gr. JSB Monster  I need only to use  at rare/bad whether conditions .
Can I reach it via necked valve stem ?

  Right on Gert!!

I zinged a 32 Gr pointed Eunjin pellet into a G'Hogs  noggin back in the hayfield early yesterday afternoon with my M10.

I worked my way down the fence row to within like 50-60 yards of him and punched his ticket. I knew I hit him good when I saw his stubby little tail stickin up and twitching about.
Stock moderator attached, and doesn't seem to bother the horses a bit unless they're right up at the fence. They just look and swish their tails dismissively as if they could care less.

Gotta appreciate the M10 in WFO mode, unless your a medium sized varmint, then you better respect it and stay clear.

   ;)

P.S.-  Is that a Padron that you're smoking there? I was always a Fuente 858 guy, Natural not Maduro. For a Maduro I would smoke Rocky Patel Vintage 1990.

That looks pretty good.  My Daystate did not like them  at all.  Have not seen much posted about those pellets.

played and always remember I can do it again " Hey just kidding around "

Did you ever stop to think we let you win, just to get you hooked? Now you have no excuse to not play with our money in your pocket...lol, see you next week. BTW, we will ALL be shooting unteathered SPA M10/11’s. Teathered Daystates will not be allowed, even for you. Your first taste is free....

HAd been playing with one with cast bullets (sized for the standard barrel), managed to get it to +60FPE  without any real mods, but kind of tined it back to 52 foot pounds.  Even at the lower energy, the solid chunks of lead impressed me...I gotta find thicker critters to shoot.

Looks like I may have to revisit the Beast with my M10. I have the small transfer port shooting JSB Monsters at 960 fps (52 ft lbs) and it is deadly at 100 yards.

and the "smack talk" begins,    LOL !

Here's a pic from this past Saturday with five M10 / M11 rifles in the group.
I know we have at least one more, and I'm sure others will eventually come.
 ( Yeah,...I guess you could say we like them  ::)  ;)  ;D )

You are afraid to buy an M-10 because you know deep inside that it will probably outshoot many of your high dollar guns. Bring the lead...

We played that game already a few months ago.  M10 could not out shoot my Daystate .22 HP.

HMmmm,... so many possibilities here.

M10 barrel was dirty.     The guy who MAKES the ammo, also supplied the ammo, to the "losing gun", HMmmm.
 and lets not forget,
The guy who owns the MOST Daystates in the group, has even REPLACED a Daystate barrel with a M10 barrel.

[/quote]Ron I can say one thing about my Airmax Dominator is it does share the same barrel as the M10 according to the parts pdf's I've got, it doesn't have near the power the M10 has though.  It's only doing 31fpe on the regulator that's in it but the accuracy of this gun is unreal IMO.  The gun is shooting way better than I am for sure.

Because that gun shoots great and has become my favorite .

Looks like the M10/11 beehive has been kicked pretty good. Just wait till you see my re-finished stock. Got rid of the orange look and stained it a nice dark walnut. On my third coat of tru-oil. She a beauty and will be the queen of the Chicken Ranch M11s.

Tried to find somewhere how long the hammerspring is that comes along, I did cut mine a while ago, now I dont remember how long it was from beginning, I have a Artemis M22, wich should be the same internals as the M10/M11...

mine is
ID 9.68mm
OD 12.03mm
but only 54mm long

If someone does know the original length of the one that comes with the gun, please reply, Thanks!!

Yu know, I read so many post of the bullpups barrels not being good.
Are they not the same barrels?

I do know that the barrel in the little Artemis PP 700 i have is stellar with both pellets and slugs. A shame they won't sell barrels to the U.S. I would love to have a few.  ;)

Question nr 1) This is my Regulator from the M22 in .22, is there a way to tell what settings (bar) it is on right now, havent checked shotstring yet, did pick the gun apart, but before I put it in maybee there is a way to guess at least??

The brass adjustable screw is 0.11mm benith the top of the black upper part....If that says something?

I will take it apart later, just to check internal parts also.
------------------------------------------------------------

Question nr 2) If I dont install the regulator part and try unregulated, will the valve assembly be safe with 250bar pressure?

I should zing a couple of my slugs over the chrony with mine and see what she's doing.  I'm thinking they'll probably work good in it, they shoot good in my Crosmans's.

How does all touching at 30 yards Sound? ;) 8)  Yes, bag rested with ADE green dot reflex sight. Model 006. this is with NOE self cast pellets.

The Ram is at 76 yards. Wow!!! this with the 29 gr cast modded NOE mold bullets. Unreal at 76 yards. To add to this, it was with the green dot held well above the target with Kentucky Windage. Wonder what a scope could do? ;)  the target dot is is 3/4" with two touching, with the third shot very-very close. AT 76 YARDS!!! :o
