Title: Which RWS scope mount - 350 magnum
Post by: ZzyzxJoshua on June 02, 2011, 12:11:45 AM
Am trying to scope one of the 350 magnums. Which RWS one piece mount do I use? The zero or one of the others that compensates for barrel droop?

I tried the search function but get so many answers with words highlighted I think I am looking at landing lights in a snowstorm.

I put a BKL unit on mine, the 360 I think it was (for 30mm scopes).  It hasn't moved since I installed that unit.  I butted it up against the nub on the rail too, not sure if that makes a difference or not.  Hector on the Dianawerk Collective recommends 35 inch-pounds on the mount bolts.  I recommend blue loctite on all the screws and bolts.

It is the longer barrel model. Shoots very well. I will do the RWS mount that does not creep because it has the stop piece, just want to know which of them is right. Will call pyramyd if I don't get it figured out in a day or two.

They make a UTG drooper mount just for the 350 I believe and you can probly find it P.A. :P

Id go with the utg mount also. Its what i have on both of mine. Rock solid and has the stop pin plus te weaver rail. When you put the leapers rings on there the rings and base wont move.

Guys, the mount you mention is the one I am looking at. I thought there were a few iterations of the mount, some with no droop compensation and some with differing amounts.

I agree solid mount. Some 350 don't have much droop and this mount maybe a little much. They make one without droop comp. too. Just need to get your choice of weaver rings.  Sometime you just got to take a chance. I can tell you my friend just got a T05 350 and it had no droop at all.

My diana 350 .177 does not have much barrel droop, I use the accushot one piece mount with high rings, at the time I did not know mediums were better But she holds solid. Rob

Here is a link to the rings i have on both of my 350's and my 470. There is a bolt and nut that gos through the base of the ring and fits in the channels of the weaver mount. That stops the rings from ever sliding. The bases i have has 17.1 in of correction. Not much of a difference from he 20.7 they have on their sight. If the 20.7 is too much you can shim the scope. Same gos with the base with no compensation. If its not enough you can shim it.

Found it. Its this one.

it depends on your rifle, do your 350 has barrel drop? if yes go for UTG mount with compensated barrel drop designed for 350 magnum T06, not every drop compensated mounts are meant for 350 magnum T06 as the scope rail is bit lengthy for T06 compared to T05. If not go for a normal single piece mount with four screws on each rings for your dovetail from accushot or RWS with a stop pin.

i am using a normal single piece 10 mm mount from accushot with out drop compensation on my 350magT06 with all screws applied with thread locker.

the UTG scope rail only fits a TO-5 models rail not the TO-6 models rail....keep this in mind before buying. My RWS is a TO-5 and the antidroop UTG rail works great!....a TO-6 i'd check out a "mag mount" from airscopes.com. It would fit the longer rail. Cheers...bart

I brought a B28 .22 cal from a guy and it came with the utg droop mount and medium rings.....good set up. My dream rifle is a 350 in .22. When I looked on pa's website they had the 350 with the rws lockdown mount. This got me curious. I like the utg mount. When I looked at the mount itself, it compensates for droop.
https://www.pyramydair.com/product/rws-lock-down-1-pc-mount-w-1-rings-11mm-dovetail-barrel-droop?a=2406 (https://www.pyramydair.com/product/rws-lock-down-1-pc-mount-w-1-rings-11mm-dovetail-barrel-droop?a=2406)
This was a surprise to me for this is the same mount that is on the 34. I have a friend that has a 34 and he says that his rifle has no droop and yet it has a droop compensator mount on it. The reason that I was curious is because I thought the utg mount was a joint effort between leapers and pa. I am a bit curious myself which mount is the right one.
