Title: indoor shooting league
Post by: chet on November 06, 2017, 10:20:34 PM

we are going to have a local indoor 25yds shooting competition over the winter, price limit is around 175.00. i have some higher end german guns that are not allowed in this game, so i am in looking for some input on shooters here what might fill the bill, some guys are shooting gamo's, ruger airhawks, and a few slavia 634's the 175.00 is gun only can put what ever optics you want on. so far i have been reading about the crossman or benjamin NP2 rifles, i want something where i can mod the trigger and not have to buy an aftermarket trigger kit. am i on the right track with the NP2 rifles if so what specific model has the better trigger. maybe some shooters can chime in on what are their accurate gun list.

At 10m you would be hard pressed to do better than a CMP refurb 853.
About $110

so far of the 5 or 6 air rifles there, the slavia 634 looks like it's gonna be the one to beat

As a Crosman fan, I honesttly say "No". While I do think they are a good, durable Air Rifle for the price.... there are other rifles out there that offer better accuracy for the price. The CMP 853 has a proven performance at 10M shooting on a budget.

Because you did not specify power plant, and you did say indoors. I suggest a Beeman AR2078-A. I have the "B" model but it is just north of $200. The "A" can be found at your $175 -$180 every day if you search.
It's a CO2 rifle made for 10M so your 25 yrd indoor range will be right in it's Wheel House.

Another option is an Xisico from Mike M at Flying Dragon. http://flyingdragonairrifles.org/index.php?route=product/category&path=59 (http://flyingdragonairrifles.org/index.php?route=product/category&path=59)
Dude, for the price these are amazing. I wish I had tried one when I started instead of not listening to others for 2 years...
If you want to stick with the connivance of a springer I recommend an underlever XS46U (http://flyingdragonairrifles.org/index.php?route=product/product&path=59&product_id=52)

But, again... For indoors I say CO2... I have a Mike M. tuned XS-60C that is another CO2 gun and is a joy to shoot for $120, with a decent Rex scope, SHIPPED!

So I just did a check on ebay... the AR2078-B model is currently $186 from the seller I bought mine from. (A+)
If another $11 doesn't push you out of the league, the "B" model gets you a side lever, true Choked Barrel and a heavier muzzle weight.
