Hello Enthusiasts,
Has anyone bought the 23.8 inch Lothar Walther barrel blanks. Can a person (or has anyone) in the USA purchase(d) one from them? I have landed on there air gun barrel blank page. Looks like it is a form for a request. Of course, all the import/export warnings are mentioned.
BTW, Did that Arms Trade Treaty that the previous administration was pushing have any adverse effects on airgun parts? I was warned that treaty could be a problem.
Thanks,
ACZan

I bought three 22 cal barrels from LW. The .630" diameter is the one made in Georgia.
All the rest are shipped from Germany and require a customs form Bis711.
Mine were shipped from Germany.
The barrel blanks I received were not blued.
If you're looking for a .177 cal barrel consider the Challenger barrel.
It's an LW barrel, very accurate and costs about$100.
It's 21 1/2" long, blued and is already machined.

Thanks for the details. I haven't been happy with the Discovery barrels Crosman has been producing. Many of them have some questionable rifling, straightness and other defect issues. I am planning to do a BNM breech upgrade and want to make it worth it by improving the barrel. The only way I know to do that is put a better machined barrel on it. I have had some horrible luck with the Discovery .22 "Barrel Lottery" as one other forum member has called it. I have had two which were bent. One with next to no rifling at the muzzle (currently on the rifle, shooting erratically) and two others with crowning tool damage. One of the three new ones will be used to swap out the bad replacement one I have now. It will get me by before I start the BNM breech upgrade.
The 0.630" barrel looks to be too big for my liking. But, I will certainly be getting one thicker than the original barrel diameter of 0.437".
So, what was the process with getting the barrels from Germany? How did you get the Customs Form. I take it that it is a United States Customs form, correct? Did Lothar Walther send you the form? Or, can it be filled out on their website?
Thanks.

Could give Roy at mountain air customs a call. Pretty sure he has LW blanks and machines them to fit m-rods (pretty sure that's where dairyboy got his for his .20 m-rod build). He would probably even machine it to fit the bnm breech for you... I know he at least used to make custom parts for crosman guns as well.
Here you go, about 1/2 way down the page. Looks like he already sells them made to fit the 22xx guns. Same as disco...

To get an LW barrel go to the LW site and put in a request. They'll send you an invoice you then send to them with your payment and BIZ711. It takes anywhere from 4-6 weeks.
Attached is an example I used as it is not very intuitive.
Search on Biz 711 to download the PDF form.
The Challenger (not Discovery) barrel Crosman uses is made by LW and I have one on a gun and it is very accurate. It's my go to barrel in 17 cal.
Have harvested over 100 fox squirrels this year so far.

Call Crosman customer service at 800-724-7486.
Let them know you wish to order parts.
The Challenger barrel part # is CH2009-014.
Cost $93 plus about $10 shipping.
You can download the Challenger parts diagram from their support site.

Tweeter,
Thanks for the reference for Mountain Air Customs. I'll be sure he gets me squared away with the BNM breech upgrade.
Does anyone know the rifling specs for those L/W blanks?
Thanks.

Thanks, Tack Driver 10.
My browser is not rendering that page very well. Formatting of the page is a bit screwed up. The chart is not showing very well. Thanks for uploading it.
