Hi , I was curious on who won this years extreme benchrest competition 2017 that was held this week by Airguns of Arizona. I know they were using pcp rifles .I also was wondering what pcp rifle was used to win the competition?

To bad they didn't mention Guns and calibers
-
I believe Doug was shooting his .338 Cal.
Knife
-
Yeah, Tom, Dana and Doug we know, wandering about the main events.
-
I read (on AGN) that the winner of EBR was shooting the FX Crown .25 with JSB heavies.

That sounds like the gun Ted said he was going to use
-
Ted used his .25 impact again as far as I know. Hopefully they will post the results soon. I wish they would televise the EBR somehow. It would be nice for all that can't make it to AZ.

Your right he did say he was sticking with his impact even after he said his crown was the most accurate gun he ever shot
-
Shane Kellar from AOA got first, Second was Matt Dubber, and third was Thane ????? From sideshot. Ted got 12th place....
-
Did Matt use his .22 or did he borrow a gun from AOA I wonder? Good for him, I like his videos!
-
I wish I knew guns and calibers but nothing on that yet. I'm happy for him as well. I wonder what happened with Ted....
-
I believe Ted went into the finals with the highest score. How does the sang go for football "Any Given Sunday" well I assuming that goes for everything and everybody.
-
Ted couldn't deal with the wind. It's funny how he always gets a bench in the good area but it's hard to when you pick your bench out of a hat for the final

Apparently it all blew away! ;D ::) 8)

Or teds ego got blown out !
-
Well, in all fairness no one can win all the time.
I too would like to know what equipment was used.
-
In fairness to Ted, he's coming off a rather significant head injury which left him at less than 100%. He was talking about feeling pretty solid for this shoot... but hey, if you don't go in confident you're undermining yourself. He did some amazing shooting to win last year, in a tricky wind. Apparently he was doing great in qualification this time around. Some days the bear bites you, that's all. Can't blame his Impact. It's been shooting incredible groups all along.
-
Yeah I have nothing against Ted not winning shows he's human. Ken Hicks known as Salticon got one of RAWs new guns in .25 designed for 100yd shooting and he was putting up amazing groups before as well in wind and he just barely missed qualifying for finals. He also won 25m benchrest with 2 248s and a 250 for a total score of 746 and 34x which was a new record and believe the first 250 shot at the competition with his BM500. Lol you never know what might happen come the day of which doesn't make either him not Ted any less of a shooter. Home court advantage with likely a cherry picked Crown won...

I don't care that he lost. I'm sure the guy is a great shooter. The issue I have is that he talked like he had it won ahead of time. Turns out other people can shoot, too.
-
I watched his last video from before extreme benchrest. And he made it clear that he was confident
He also made it clear that he was okay with coming in behind ten other guys if that's what happened. Paraphrasing, as I don't recall his exact wording. Maybe some people should go back and listen to the man...
-
I've shot the EBR for three years now and I can tell you that the shooter and gun of paramount importance. Without a good shooter and and a good gun it is impossible to win. However, the third part of the equation is the conditions combined with the luck of the draw. Not all lanes are Rio Salado are created equal and the conditions between them vary wildly. This is why you see some shooters with lower qualifying scores do extremely well in the finals and vise-versa. I give credit to everyone who made the finals and persevered thru a very windy Sunday.

Thanks Jimmy!

Looks like Ted had another great year and placed at the top or near the top throughout the event. A great guy and an excellent shooter in my book although a little goofy, but we can't all be stiffs. Nothing wrong with an ego check to keep him aggressive and hungry for another chance to win in next years event.

At firs 100 yd table I see only .25 and .30 calibers. I suppose that not written calibers are all .22 and there was nothing to use .177 calliber.
Am I right ?
-
.177 stands no chance on a 100 yards comp against .25 and .30 cal in the kind of wind that usually blows in Arizona
