Title: click, Thoop, "plink" ... @50yds in a cold rain
Post by: Marc In Iowa on October 10, 2017, 06:53:39 PM
I just upgraded my .22 Discovery today with the Baker brass trigger and a TKO moderator. It's 49F and a cold, steady rain is falling in my forest.

So ... while I wait for the rain to stop so I can put up some paper targets to assess group sizes, here's the interim process.

Get up out of Lazy Boy chair
Open door to deck
Cock bolt on .22 Discovery
Place GTO pellet in breech
Close bolt
Lean rifle on door frame (cold rain)
Aim @ 50 yards
Put cross bolt safety on Fire
click trigger (Baker brass)
Thoop report (TKO)
plink sound from hanging 5" metal target

click-Thoop-plink

That's good. 🙂

Return to Lazy Boy, repeat as necessary.

Move Lazy-Boy into doorway?

Hmm!

Get compressor in basement.
Run feeder line up to the Discovery.
Non-stop click-Thoop-plink !

Oh ... and pay cute blond to collect and remove empty pellet tins as they get high enough to interfere with sight picture.

Clip empty tins to string on pulley system and send them out as new targets.

Clip empty tins to string on pulley system and send them out as new targets.

Well, if I do that, what do I do with the cute blond?

She can be the string maiden - she can just sit there looking cute, and occasionally clip the empty tin onto the string and send it outside...

Ah ... ! There are solutions to every issue if we will just look for them.
