1951 Sheridan Silver Streak
-
Very cool 8)
-
"You ask me to have lunch, tell me you slept with Elaine, and then say you're not in the mood for details. Now you listen to me. I want details and I want them right now. I don't have a job, I have no place to go. You're not in the mood? Well you get in the mood!"
AWESOME!
-
Very nice. Do you think it's the original finish?

Durrr HUH ??
The wood has been refinished & metal polished.
-
Is she yours & by any chance do you have before pix?
-
Yes, it is mine. Will look to see if I saved a pix.
This is the same rifle I made a post about several months ago . It is the one that is stamped , " Sheridan Silver Streak " upside down.
Got to hit the road . Will look for pix when I return.

Found it Steve. Wow what a find. One thing that really stands out, at least for me is the the rear sight. Love that silver on black. Do you know what years had this style of sight or when it was discontinued?

That was very good stock work! The rifle is drool-worthy!
-
Wow, that stock is gorgeous!
-
Very nicely figured stock on that one and a fine refinish job indeed.
A real beauty!!!
-
That is her, Marty. I passed on the rifle when it was on auction a year ago. It must have sensed that I wanted to have it in my stables, so, I had another chance to buy it after the stock was refinished.
Looking at the E Bay pictures, the stock looked pretty good as it was. No Blue Streak were made this year. Partridge front sight , Made in USA was NOT stamped on this year model, rear sight soldered on til '56 , rear sight has windage knobs for adjustment ,[ knobs got lost easily ] forearm held on with screws, & stock has a straight butt. Resealed & a SWEET, SWEET shooter , too !
NOTICE = " SILVER STREAK " is stamped upside down on both sides. I know some people who worked at the Sheridan factory & had never heard of that happening. SWEET, SWEET shooter , too !
-
Beautiful and unique....
VERY nice!
-
SWEET!
-
What everyone said x10 Steve. I don't think I have ever seen a prettier grain on any Dan. Glad she's yours!
-
I like that the forearm is held with screws. I guess they went with pins to save costs & assembly time.

I am sure it will be accurate, since it is a Sheridan. I am having cataract surgery done, & hopefully my " shooting eye " will be good enough to test this rifle, afterwards.
-
There's always the dreaded scout mount... ;D
Sorry, couldn't resist... ;)
Hope all goes well with the new set of optics.
-
That is indeed a beautiful stock.

That is indeed a beautiful stock.
INDEED!!
-
Thanks !! I have several scoped Sheridans , already. I won't put a scope on this one.
I had surgery on one eye & will have the other one done in 2 weeks.

OH OH, we have identified it now as a cheap worthless copy, I'll give you $20 for it and pay for shipping too since I am a nice guy, and so it won't haunt you that you were taken so badly! ;)
-
Totally beautiful. ;)
-
Yeap, totally awesome! finally see pics of the original production details, had never seen/noticed this original "Patridge" front sight design, same for the rear sight elevation 'knob', now I know what to look for if I ever run into one... ;) ;)
-
So that's the "partridge" front sight? Why do they call it that?
-
I think it has to do with more precise adjustments (windage & elevation) as opposed to a ramp sight. The name refers to the designer.

You could part Keith Partridge's hair with it. LOL
-
??? I found this on the net
