I a refurb kit for my old Daisy 880 (metal receiver) a few wks ago. Four of the parts worked great. For some reason though the O ring that's in the pressure chamber, on the receiver end (NOT the moveable pump end) was too small. A reassemble video on youtube states that the O rings on each side of the pressure chamber are the same size and interchangeable, but with my old Daisy 880 that was not the case. When I pumped the gun would hold pressure at times, at other times it didn't. I ended up using the old O ring, which I swear was bigger that the O ring on the far end of the chamber, and it worked fine. Does this make sense? Do some guns take 2 different size O rings in the pressure chamber? Anyone know what might be going on here? Thx.

I have never noticed this and I have resealed many 880's varying in age from 1990's back to early 70's. That said, I don't buy reseal kits. I buy orings in bulk. I just match the right oring I need from the ones I have. Pretty sure that I have used the same size for the two you are talking about. They are sealing the same tube after all.
