I now have two Beeman P-17's on the way, as well as a chrono.
So, since I'll have two as well as a chrono to get a base reading for both (as well see if they both do the same) Then compare with mods...
what / where / how / when / why / etc. can I find parts / stuff / ting's / picture's / paperwork / etc. to start modin' one of them?
As well, those that have these, that are still "stock", what pellet weight seems to work best?
I've got a range of 'bout 7.2g to 10.5g that I keep on hand.
I'm sure the one can be made to do alot more than the advertised 410 fps.

Jon,
My only mods to my two P17's have strictly been to improve the triggers with their stock parts, which really are not that bad out-of-the-box. Pull weight for both were 2.5# and pre-travel creep 3\4" (but easily & quickly re-settable to 3\16").
Basically, the pneumatic power-plants are still stock. For accuracy, both Really like the RWS Hobby 7.0g wad cutters, achieving 410fps for the 1st, and 420fps for the 2nd. The RWS Meisterkugeln 7.0 WC's shoot about 435 to 445fps...a little faster, but not quite as accurate or consistent as the Hobbies.
I'm not familiar with getting "a lot more" out of this SSP, but you may find additional info HERE (http://anotherairgunblog.blogspot.com/2009/02/derricks-on-beeman-p17-overhaul-part-1.html). Others who have successful P17 mods to obtain higher FPS will need to chime in on your request.
Ted
Additionally, a good trigger mod post can be found HERE (https://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?topic=132621.20) (with my mod version in post #25 (https://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?topic=132621.msg1317530#msg1317530)), also HERE (https://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?topic=130396.msg1293439#msg1293439) !

That will be a good read as well to add to the list.
trigger improve is always a bonus, both will need that then.
I'll look into a tin of those pellets as well to add to the pellet test when that time arrives

Haven't shot mine lately but the Predator GTO's were always very good through them-light enough to get a good short range jump in velocity but still accurate. The really light Winchesters also gave a good jump in velocity but were less accurate than the Predator's.

I've had really good luck shooting the Winchester Rounds and Winchester Hollow Points (both around 9.8g) in my basement (17 foot range). Bought them as break in pellets but keep using them as they group well on the cheap.

Winnie Domes work great for me!

I can add those to the list for the next order.
I just made an order for ones I use a lot, some are the small tins that are a bit over 2 bucks a tin
on the way is
H&N Excite Plinking Pellets, .177 Cal, 7.48 Grains, Wadcutter, 100ct Quantity: 1
H&N Excite Spike Pellets, .177 Cal, 8.64 Grains, Pointed, 100ct Quantity: 4
Daisy Precision Max .177 Cal, 7.5 Grains, Flat-Nosed, 250ct Quantity: 2
Beeman .177 Cal, 7.8 Grains, Wadcutter, Coated, 250ct Quantity: 1
H&N Excite Hollow Point, .22 Cal, 13 Grains, Hollowpoint, 200ct Quantity: 2
Crosman Premier .177 Cal, 7.9 Grains, Hollowpoint, 500ct Quantity: 1
Crosman Premier Light .177 Cal, 7.9 Grains, Domed, 1250ct Quantity: 1
As well I've still some of the 7.2 g hollows Beeman and the Crosma Premier 10.5 g
So once I give those a go an get them thru the chrono, I can try out the Winchesters.
My set up in the garage is 'bout 25 feet which most is done an always for testing.
