this weekend was illinois hunting and fishing days at two locations, north and south.
the northern festival is less than 10 miles from my home and i'v attended it many times and participated in activities like the bb gun range, archery range, hatchet throwing, and i even won a lake michigan charter one year.
this year i completely forgot about it and was too busy if i had remembered, however, for those of us who live in illinois, this could be our opportunity to show what air gunning is all about.
they always have the bb gun range and thought, what if we could convince them to let us bring our springers, co2, and pcp powered guns and let the public shoot them?
maybe we can persuade the dnr to open more lands to airgun hunting?
(a petition at the range for sportsmen to sign couldn't hurt)
i've included links to the websites, and if you check out the bottom, sponsors include: Beeman, Umarex, Daisy, A.O.A., and Pyramid Air.
we have a whole year to communicate with the dnr, so lets see what we can do. when i return from my hunting trip nest week, i'll be stopping by silver springs to chat with the officer.

Good idea. I'd certainly like to see more lands open to airgun hunting. Seems like a great opportunity. They're range-limited and quiet. Maybe we could even get up to deer, in time.

Great idea Carl. And good luck on the hunt you guys.

There are many more places to airgun hunt on IL public land than this time last year, I have attached the latest list. Of course, there are still several that don't allow it.
What you propose has a lot of potential. I admit it might spook me a little to put my rifles in the hands of complete strangers, but lots of folks are certainly not aware of what guns are out there. If nothing else, if they allowed a demonstration shoot by airgunners like is often allowed for muzzleloaders, that would be fun! (I would love to see a showdown between a big bore airgun and a charcoal burner!)
-
unfortunately, the 3 closest areas are still almost a 2 hour drive for me.
most of the areas where air guns are allowed are down south and too far for a day hunt for us "northerners".
-
I have never been to one of these events ever. I need to attend one next year!
-
On a side note my land is always open to hunting/shooting. 8)

In Italy, hunting with air rifles is totally forbidden.
I'm forced to shoot the jars and look at your prey on this site.

I cannot imagine that, What is there to hunt in italy? What would you hunt if you could?

In Italy you can only hunt with firearms, with smooth cane in the classical gauges from 12 to 36. With cane striped those of the photo.
Birds of various species are hunted, but above all its majesty the wild boar.
The hunting period is for birds from the first September to the 29th of January.
For wild boars from October to late January
