I saw this on a Facebook group today. Walmart affords a certain level of protection, if that means anything to you. As always, caveat emptor (buyer beware!)

There is also a full blown unboxing review by Jorge Sprave of "The Slingshot Channel" including a complete teardown and evaluation. Pretty interesting.

If this has already been posted, feel free to delete it, but I couldn't find anything like this.
NOTE: Walmart unit does not show adjustable fill, pressure option like in the video. Also doesn't show voltage options.

Not exactly Wal-Mart, just on the site.
Third party seller, wacky product description, basic model for the same price you can get the upgraded model. I'd pass on this all day every day.
All though ,it does " compressed air through the cyclone, after high speed rotation" not sure my yong heng is capable of this ::)
-
Anyone else smell something?
I would stick with sites that guys have successfully received a compressor from.... no matter the cost. After all... it's only a few bucks.
-
Looks like 3 different sellers have them listed. There was one listed for $192 a few days ago, it it seemed it was always sold out.

Did you have a link for the set pressure model at a similar price shipped? That sounds like a good deal! I know there is guys on here really looking for a reliable deal on the full feature model at a price like this but it's hard to sort out the reliable sellers from the scams. Maybe we should start a thread of links to compressor sellers that have actually sent compressors not coins, lol

Wes,
What voltage do you guys run up there north of the border? are you 110V 60 cycle or 220V 50 cycle? Seems you can get a better deal and better selection of options on the 220V models. I'm just not sure they would even work here since we are 60 cycle power, even at 220V.

Hey Paul, we're the same as you guys, 110v,and we're still using imperial sized lumber as well and do most all our construction in feet and inches even though we're supposed to be all metric.
Yeah those 220v compressors seem to be cheaper than the 110v. Our 220v is the same as yours as well, only used for dryers and stoves, water heaters and welders, things like that.

Wes,
I don't. And set pressure was not what I was talking about.
The linked unit lacks the first stage oil/water separator, its the "basic" model or at least that's what I've seen it called. The "hardcopy" model, has an oil/water separator for the first and second stage, this model generally sells for around $325. I have the "hardcopy" model, paid $324 shipped from LA, CA. delivered in two days.

Thanks that is a great clarification, I didn't realize the basic model lacked that separator. Something that is pretty much needed you'd think! Sounds like you got a good deal, congrats!

I am looking to get one soon,
How can I tell which has the proper separators?
Any pics?

Links would be even better.

This one has the separator plus the adjustable autoshutoff:

This one has it as well and the shutoff only at 4300psi: http://s.aliexpress.com/EnI32eIz (http://s.aliexpress.com/EnI32eIz)
This one is just the hardback version with oil/water separator and no shutoff

Probably some others could verify some good ones on ebay.
Here is a picture of the filter

Here is a picture of the different versions. All but the first have the separator.

Thanks much

I bought one for $247 after emailing the seller about which model I would receive. A day later I got shipping confirmation for a 2 pound package headed to the opposite side of the country. Contacted seller, they said sorry we are out of stock and will refund you. I did get the refund, but good luck with any seller with no feedback.

I did manage to finally get one delivered from Walmart. I had about 7 that were supposedly shipped, but to other locations. I did receive full refunds for each of those. The compressor I did receive was not what was described in the listing on Walmart.com. It was a 220v Simple Version. I contacted the vendor and was offered a $10 refund if I kept it, other wise i would have to ship it back at my expense to receive a refund. I contacted Walmart, explained the situation and received an immediate full refund. So, $120 later (had to buy a transformer and water pump) my free compressor is working great! I have a gold filter on order for it since it does not have the cyclone water/oil separator.

A fellow on the Canadian forum just got scammed on ebay, paid a lot for it too. Hopefully he gets his money back.
AliExpress looks like the safest bet for ordering these unless trying to get a free one like Paul managed, lol😊

I got lucky on that one... Maybe i should go play Lotto too! LOL!
I will say that Walmart and AliExpress treat their customers way better than eBay! I received a full refund from Aliexpress for the Regulator I bought that did not match the picture, and got to keep it too. I love free stuff!
