Title: Help! Crosman 622 Needs to be put back together again!
Post by: Whirligig on September 05, 2017, 06:31:53 PM
I noticed that my "new to me" Crosman 622 had a slow CO2 leak, so being the curious cat that I am, I removed one side of the receiver, thinking that I could just lube or replace the offending seal.

Unfortunately, as you may have predicted by now, the internal springs went "Ka-Sproing!" sending all the internal bits flying into the air.

Fortunately, I believe I found all the pieces that were originally put together like a fine Swiss jack-in-the-box inside the 622's receiver.

Though I have taken the time to clean and re-lube many of these parts. I can't figure out how to put the springs and things near the trigger back together in a way that they will stay put long enough for me to screw the receiver back together.

A photo of a fully assembled unit with a blue circle around the problem area, and the internals of my gun (the missing pieces positioned safely out of frame) are below.

Can anyone help me get my trusty 622 working again?

Thanks,

-Whirly

I looked at that, but unfortunately, I'm just not able to translate the diagram into the proper steps!

Leave the safety out. Put the spring in. Put the clamshells together. Use a pick to move the spring forward in the hole. Screw the halves together. Start the safety in from the left side. Use the same pick to push the spring forward until the small side of the safety will pass the spring. Push the safety until you hear the spring click into place. Easy peasy.

Neither I nor my local gunsmith could put it back together.

Open to suggestions!

Thanks
