Title: TX 200 HC pellet choice.
Post by: Marco2021 on September 02, 2017, 11:06:40 PM
Hi all. Finally got some time this morning to test some pellets in my FAC TX 200 HC in .177. only 50 or so pellets through it so will allow to settle down but quite a surprise. At a measured 17 yards the Crosman premier 10.5 domes stacked 5 through the same hole. The AirArms field 8.4 came in very close but only a whisker in it. Jsb exact 8.4 came in with a 1 inch spread, hmm surprising..I thought the Fields and Exacts were the same?  H&N Baracuda 10.65 matched the Airarms with 1/4 inch group however I found them quite tight needing some thumbing to get them in. They also packed quite a whallop on target. Just wondering if the Baracudas being so tight  will deposit lead into the rifling?
What diet does your TX HC FAC in .177 like?
All replies appreciated.

My TX 200 Mk III seems to prefer JSB Exact in 8.44  though it also has a fondnedd for H&N Sniper Medium.

H&N FTT in 4.52 head size is typically excellent ...
been fooling around with JSB 7.87's and they too shoot very well tho looser fitting in barrel.

My TX200 favorites are (1 being the best):
AA FT 8.4gr with 4.52mm heads
H&N Sniper 8.5gr
JSB Exact 7.87gr
AA FT 8.4gr with 4.51mm heads
JSB Exact 8.44gr
H&N FTT 8.65gr
Crosman Premiere 7.9gr

In reality, all of these pellets shoot well. It's just the difference I see out at 35-50 yards that set the AA 8.4gr (4.52mm) and the H&N Sniper 8.5gr apart from the rest. I ended up going to the Air Arms FT in the end, because the hardness of the H&N Sniper fouled the barrel too fast (200 shots). I have shots 1500 Air Arms FT 8.4gr pellets through the TX200, and haven't cleaned the barrel yet.
