Title: Inexpensive HPA compressor
Post by: Lmgunner13 on August 25, 2017, 08:25:10 AM
Hey y'all,
Need some advice on an inexpensive compressor or shoebox. I should clarify, by inexpensive I mean something in the 400 to 700 range. Not one of those 3k scuba outfits. I see those small Chinese made units on ebay. Anyone have any experience with those?

Thanks
Phil

Read all about it....
If you can swing it, I would recommend stepping up to the Air Venturi from PA or the MKII from MRodAir.

I personally am looking forward to some review's about that portable one that's available from Mroair right now.  I'm talking about that 12V one that also comes with a power supply for using on AC as well.

I would go with an Altaros booster if you have a decent sized shop air compressor.

This is another good option that I considered before I got the deal on my MKII.

I have a shoebox besides a couple belts it has right around 100 hours on it just grease it every couple hours . It might be slower but it works and it was about $650 .  I really haven't had any trouble with it

Thanks for all the replies! I'm going to investigate this further but as of today my budget for the compressor had been blown. I am not directly in the path of Hurricane Harvey but close enough for horse shoes and well, hurricanes. So money was spent on a new 10000 watt generator to keep the power on. I will have to save a couple of more months.

First things first Phil..... good call.
With the Holidays coming we're coming into the part of the year that Betty Lou and I do what little traveling that we do. Our home is off the beaten path and we've never had a problem yet... but times are a changing. I sold a couple guns to fund another gun that I wanted but I thought the money would be better spent on a 6 camera security system. Five will be in fixed locations and one will be portable for..... wait for it.....
Air gun videos..... tell me you didn't see that coming.

Do yourself a favor and figure out how to upload some of it to the cloud.

My dad had a nice system and a crazy girlfriend...which he shouldn't have had to begin with since he's married, but that's another subject.
Anyway, he and crazy girlfriend fight.
His wallet and keys disappear.  Thinking he's lost his mind and lost them himself, he replaces keys and wallet.
another fight
His hummer has holes drilled in the tires.
another fight
his high end triathlon road bike disappears.
he gets DVR and cameras
another fight, this one leaves him with a black eye
his house burns down with him in it (no joke.)  Camera was pointed right where the fire was set.
Luckily he got out, but sadly, said DVR was also in the fire and was nothing but char.

Moral of the story is upload your DVR to the cloud in realtime.

Haha Bill I wouldn't expect anything less! I am going to try to make some hog hunting videos in October. I do have a gopro for squirrel season also in October. Should be fun!

I was checking that one out but haven't heard anything about them yet either.

Robin... the "cloud" feature and instructions are included. Matter of fact... they have a list of apps and such on their site. I did do a little homework.
