Decided I'd give the 100yd match a try, it was definitely a fun challenge. I shot roughly 10 targets to get the one I submitted, which I was very happy with. I'd like this submission to be for N.U.A.H. as well. Was so close, but couldn't quite get master my first try. There's always next time right?? For $299, I'm very pleased with the 100yd groups. Only modifications are smoothing out the magazines and cranking down the hammer spring a bit.
Match #5 2017
cj_09/James
Hatsan AT44-10QE .22 (Short)
Hawke Vantage 4-12X40 (12x)
Jsb Diabolo Jumbo Exact 15.89 .22 (Straiight from tin)
Bipod, Rear Rolled up Towel
Score: 49/50 3x
Group size: .85 ctc and 4/5 in .35 ctc
(Used a ruler and tape measure since I don't have any digital calipers)
Wind: 0-2 mph
Shooting somewhere around 930 fps
I understand if some are skeptical of my submission, as it does not appear to be four pellets clustered together, but three. I am 100% positive that there were 5 pellets in the magazine. Distance was verified on google earth as well as tape measured. Also rookie mistake didn't use cardstock used printer paper instead. I forgot to take some but I'll post pics of the shooting range as well.

Finally got around to posting the pics sorry guys

James... sounds like you have an excellent target but I need a picture of the target posted in your thread to be entered in the match.

As per the NUAH club.... you need to post over in The Lone Range Club gate https://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?board=205 (https://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?board=205) following the rules posted there. It sounds like this target would qualify you to become a member.

I am so happy I finally got up to the range to play this morning!  I'm also super happy I managed to get a decent target to submit for an "official" round, thanks again Marty for putting this together!

Shot one target that came out with 3 x's but scored as 46, so I'll go with 50 and no x's.

Blue
Gen 2. Mrod .22
CP 4-16x44
H&N FTT 5.53
Seated, front and rear bags
50/50  group=1.04"

I don't think I'm even going to try posting pics through photobucket anymore so here they are in all their compressed glory.

Thanks,
Blue

Nice shooting Blue. Glad to see you back.

I have 3 submissions this time around. I met up with Steve (Nitrocrusher) and had a great day shooting at his place(thanks again for the invite).

marty2
HM1000X
Hawke 8-32X56
.30 JSB 44.75
70* Light air, F -Rest, R - Bag
47/50  1.294 CTC
I shot this one a while back but couldn't get anything better today.

HM1000X
Hawke 6-24X50
.25 JSB 33.95
81* Light Breeze, F - Rest, R - Bag
50/50  1X 0.78" CTC

TM1000
Mueller 8-32X44
.177 AA 10.3
81* Light Breeze, F - Rest, R - Bag
43/50 1.915" CTC

I'm traveling and won't be home in time to scan the targets the way I usually do so the  .25 & .177 targets  are both together on 1 picture.
I also added in a picture of the warm up target for the .177 shot on a 50 yard target at 100 yds. That one is better than my submission  :( 8)
This was the first time I stretched out the TM to 100 yards.
When I get back home(which will be after the match ends) I'll scan the targets and repost them.

Update 9/19.... I'm home now and I attached the 3 grouped targets individually.

Great shooting with you today Marty!!  You have quite a nice selection of rifles 8)  You're a heckuva shot and did a nice job compensating and timing shots in the swirling breeze we were dealing with today.  I need to shoot with you more often so I can learn a few things about shooting in the wind ;D

Thanks guys, it was a great morning and it felt so good to be able to stretch things out again.

I changed jobs in April.  Great opportunity, better team, more responsibility, more pay, no weekends, but between getting my feet under me and my being able to enjoy having weekends off I had trouble finding time for the range.  I'm not gonna lie, I was afraid I'd get up there and be so out of practice that I would be too frustrated to have a good time.  Or that I'd get all the way up there and set up only to have some kind of malfunction like the time I got 2 or 3 shots off before my poppet broke.

The range I go to is free and in a National Forrest so it can get pretty busy.  I've been there when there were so many people shooting it almost scared me how much lead was flying!  Today I sucked it up and made a few trips lugging gear waaaaaaay down to the farthest spot from the parking area so I'd have an end to myself even as people started showing up.  It payed off huge!  By the time I left there were a half a dozen people all crowded close to their cars but for the 3+ hours I was there, I might as well have been alone.  Despite the constant pop, pop, pop, and the occasional BOOM going on behind me I was set up shooting out the end, perpendicular to everyone else's line of fire and never had to worry about walking out to change targets any time I liked.

AND for once there really wasn't any wind!  I even brought an anenometer so I could start putting real numbers to what I feel and there wasn't enough to even register.  Okay, once I picked up a "gust" of 1.7 mph.

Steve, I know what you're saying about wind. Sometimes I can fool myself into thinking it's "fun" (never when shooting for groups) and sometimes I think it's just plain cruel the way it only stops when I'm changing targets!

I finished my morning by shooting clay pigeons I had collected on my walks out to change targets. I hung them from branches on a down tree right next to my target board.  After aiming at a 1" circle all morning, picking those suckers off seemed easy but oh so satisfying to see each one break with each shot!

Thanks again, this is just so much fun!

Blue, nice target .....
I know what you mean about the range, I go 30 minutes to the State Game Lands range.  Quite a nice facility, updated, lots of permanent benches, all under roof.  I bought a pair of those noise cancelling, ear protection shooting headphones that allow you to adjust them so you can hear voices .... but cancel out the powder burner blast.  Before I got those, being under cover with those cannons was killing me, not to mention the first shot scaring the bejesus out of me.  It never fails too, it's calm winds at home, I go up, park in the lot, tote all my shooting gear about 50 yards to the range, set up .... and the wind starts howling.  Pack everything up, and go back home.  I hate going to all that trouble, but I have no choice if I want 100 yards.

Well, I guess I'll try this. Sounds stupid but I've been shooting at 32 yards (my casual plinking range for smoke breaks) and last long distance shooting was out to 200 yards when fields were first plowed before soybeans came up. I enjoy just trying to hit clumps of dirt, reading the wind, seeing how different pellets hit way higher or lower. So I'll download Chairgun, zero rifles for 100 yards & give it a whirl. Once I have the 4 I'd like to try zeroed, If I even get 5 within the 4moa circle on first try of actual printed targets, I don't think I'll cherry pick or waste card stock paper, pellets, tank air.
I'll probably shoot these at night or early morning with LED work lights as there's almost no wind at all then this time of year.
I'll be trying my JIPA tuned RWS 48 .177 either Crosman 10.5's or JSB 8.44's, My Rainstorm One .22 w/ JSB 18.1's, my 2 Discovery rifles, .177 & .22 pellets to be determined. I've been wanting 26" Maximus barrels for them. I wish I could get 26 to 28" choked LW barrels for them. Maybe Jim Gaska or TJ's has what I'm looking for. I also wanted to extend my Rainstorms 17" barrel. I'd get more shots, or power; but the main reason Rainstorms, Jager and any other 17-18" barreled PCP's are so accurate is the fast dwell time in the barrel. Just need to have a proper hold, good follow through, maybe add some serious weight to the stock. Eventually I'm buying a Jager in .30 and a RAW in .30 or .357 and stop playing around. I wish you all good luck!

Only 2 contestants this time around. We did have another submission but there was no picture of the target attached to the post so I did not included that one in the tally.

Good shooting Blue.

Nice shooting you guys.  In a two man race, the worse you can is come in second.   :P :P

Hopefully we can have a couple more of these until the Winter freeze sets in.  I'll try to submit a target.

Yeah, Bob .... pretty cool.  8)  I think we can attribute that too better technology as well as improved shooting skills.  I think Marty would have to use CTC group size too, if it comes to ties with score and x's.

LOL ....  ;D ;D ;D ;D ... I'm up around this time a lot, rarely feel like shooting this early (although the wind is usually down).  After a little office work, check some e-mails etc., maybe I'll take a nap.   :P
