Anyone ever get a used CO2 cylinder stuck in their pistol? I've used a rubber mallet on the front of the CO2 loading tube and a small brass hammer but so far to no avail. Also tried a strong magnet just a little smaller than the cylinder but that didn't work either. The cylinder that was left in was never completely discharged. Don

Not on the CP-1 but I have on a 2240.
I mixed up a bit of JB Weld and cleaned the cart with alcohol. JB Welded a piece of wire to the cart and let it set up. The I snatched that puppy outta there. Slick as a greasy string out of a cat's butt.
Sorry for the visual and the missing cat.

How did you empty the co2? Did you get to your shot count and start to unscrew the co2 cap or did you just keep cocking and shooting until it was empty or darn near?

have you tried "bumping" it out ? by gently bringing the tube down on a wood surface ? it has worked for me when the mallet wouldn't . kind of like a kinetic bullet puller.

I've even cocked the gun and pulled the trigger and it's let loose before...
Cat's still missing...

Thanks for the suggestions. I got it out by tapping the end of the sleeve with the brass hammer. If it happens again I'm going to use a hickory mallet I have to avoid messing up the threads on the end of the sleeve. The JB Weld solution was the next step if it had not come out.
Thanks again,
Don

Had it happen to me with my 2240. I took off the end cap, padded around the bottom of the cart. with tissue paper, used a center punch lightly to make a dimple on the bottom of the cart then drilled a hole in the cart, inserted a screw and extracted the spent cart with a long none pliers. Mine was stuck so tight that the seal came out with the cart!

Yikes! How to prevent this from happening? Maybe a drop of oil on the end of the cartridge every now and then?

The main cause of the cart getting stuck is people that shoot there carts to dead empty. That last shot sends the piercing needle further than it should go. There is no co2 acting against the needle being driven in. Once you see that dramatic drop in POI, fire it a couple more times and unscrew.
