I've heard from a popular gun distributor that the company is not as solid as it use to be. Anyone have any understandings on this.

I have not heard that.
I do know that Saint Robert sold his controlling share of the company some years back, but Beeman seems to be doing okay at the moment, even selling the vaunted Wheirauch and Feinwerkbau rifles again.
Pyramydair seems to think they are least in good enough shape to be selling well over a dozen different rifles from them, even including a couple of PCP rifles.

The Beeman you know is technically out of business. They were owned by a holding company, SR Industries, which was bought by a Chinese company. Here is the scoop from a Tom Gaylord column:
In 2009 the Beeman company was sold again to Industry Brand of Shanghai, China (also known as Shanghai Industrial Company). Already an airgun manufacturer of major proportions, they wanted the Beeman name to serve as a selling outlet for Chinese airguns in the U.S. They made arrangements with Pyramyd Air to continue to import, distribute, service and sell the high-end Beeman guns, including the R-series rifles and the P-series pistols.

It doesn't really matter since "Beeman" didn't actually make anything. The same good German guns are available from other importers under their proper names, mainly Weihrauch. The newer cheaper guns from China called "Beeman" are still available too, but really have nothing to do with the Beeman legacy.

it depends if its the china beeman or the high end guns
