Does anyone have any of the above tuned down to around 500fps and could tell me how loud it is. I just want it to not be too loud to shoot in a basement.
I would be open to other pistols as well if they are useful as a pistol. Some are a size that basically demands a stock.

I have the .22 Version and although loud not terrible and with an LDC even better talk to Rocker1 he builds a very nice carbon fiber LDC for a fair price

It's not too bad, I shoot mine in the basement all the time.
I don't shoot in my yard though so if you have close neighbors and sound is a worry then it probably going to be an issue. Could put a ldc on it but in Ny I don't feel comfortable with it personally

It's about like my Prod without an LDC for loudness, My Mrod .25 was quieter than my Prod and it's cranked up now but I do have a Rocker LDC for that now too.
My MKII now sounds about like the little pop guns we had when we were kids with the Rocker LDC on it.

Even at 500fps, if shooting in an enclosed, likely concrete or block walls small area, I think it would be wise to ware hearing protection for prolonged shooting...
Out in the open, nah, 500fps would be quite enough. this is stock of course.

Can they go lower?
Honestly my p17 packs plenty of punch for 10m in the basement, so if I could tune it that low and get some serious noise reduction I woukd be interested.

This pistol has so many things going for it but it IS loud. I have a .177 tuned down very low and it still barks pretty good. I would not hesitate to shoot it in a proper basement though. The LDC makes it a pretty long pistol but dang if it isn't fun. Best bang for your buck out there IMHO.
Also, if you just want to shoot targets indoors, I think the (Gamo Compact) now branded the Air Venturi V10 is AWESOME.

I am looking for a pcp. The p17 has me covered on the SSP front.
