Being new here i know that i may not have complete privileges yet, But is there an ability to like a post, Give rep or say thank you ???
-
No there is not any. It was at one time many years ago for a short while but caused problems.
-
Yeah that's a first for me. But there are reasons i'm sure, thank you for the info :)
-
Add a thumbs up symbol to your reply.
Yep, we had a Karma rating. It was abused and some sent bad Karma as a joke. It wasn't taken as a joke. And AFAIK we were not able to adjust the Karma to edit so it had to go.
LOL
Good question, thanks for asking!!!

Glad we do not have a karma rating here. I bet I would be number one in the bad rating. LOL Rocker would stuff the box on me.

:( You can express pretty much how you feel with the little yellow "Roll Back" guy.
-
It's too bad you can't just have a "Like" button, it's quick, easy and shows appreciation for what someone has shared. No need for any other buttons, seems if there was just a "like" button, you either clicked it or you didn't. That would be hard to abuse.
And, how do you do a thumbs up? I don't seem to have that option, just the little yellow guys... :P

LMBO.... anyone who knows me knows that hitting a "like" button and walking away would be like eating one Lays potato chip. Not gonna happen.
-
I think the ability to say "thanks" or to "like" a post would be cool , but I can also understand why there isnt one in place, Thanks Guys :)

See, this is definitely a post I'd click the Like button on!
Thank you!
The problem with just doing a post that says thank you is you end up with a lot of posts that don't really contribute. A like button give the poster feedback without adding to the number of posts you have to scroll though to get to the meat of a topic!
Kinda like this post...
-
LOL Paul... <like>

Not a big fan of like buttons personally. They turn me in to a lazy poster if I can just click a button instead of actually typing a reply.
But that may be just me, lol

I'm with you Marcel. Ironically, I used to be guilty of this laziness myself on other forums.

I am absolutely fine with "my" threads going off topic. I'm here to socialize and have fun, not just get info. However, I know a lot of people find it annoying, so I respect that as well. I'm sure that if the thread starter objects to off topic posts, then I'm sure a request, to one of the admins, will take care of all the offending posts.....or just step in and tell people to request people to stay on topic.

SQUIRREL !!!

SQUIRREL !!!
I request any admin to delete the above off-topic post......and punish the serial offender by taking back the Matador and preferably send it to me

There's no such "button"..............now send me your Matador!

Lemme see... NH?.... How bout if I try to send just a pellet.

Hmm.......can't find that darn "thumbs down" icon for a reply
-
The like button is good. If you want to comment, you can, if you do not want to comment, but want to appreciate, you press the like button. No downside there.
If you make 100 posts and get no likes, it makes you go Huh. It's all good really

Paul, In the message icon box right below the subject line when post a reply.

Got it! Thanks!

;) ;D Going off topic with some posters is the normal response. We have a member in New Jersey who was extremely active on the forum and shot in his backyard causing no harm except to the local deer fly and yellow jacket populations when the found there way to his 50 yard target. Any post of Joe Palone was definitely going to side track . Bill can confirm that ;)
Unfortunately one of his new neighbors (a soccer mom ) complained to the LEO's and Joe had to stop the target shooting in his backyard due to local laws

It seems neighbors are becoming bigger nuisances than the pests we are often trying to eliminate!

Well, I had hamburgers and homemade squiggly mac salad along with cracked pepper chips. And a slice of blackberry pie.
Now I feel like I could shoot an asprin at 100yds with a springer.

How can a simple 'Thanks' feature be abused.
This simple feature would have made it convenient for me, and everyone else for that matter, to thank each individual member who responded to my introduction thread without having to reply to each of these members individually when a simple thanks with my username displayed at the bottom of their response message would suffice.

Agree with above 100%. Can't see why having something as simple as a "Thanks" or "Like" button has to involve pages of discussion...

Trying, but its dark in here

You mean adding a "like" button ain't like just slapping up a stick up tap light? hmmmm... I would have never guessed it would involve scripting to non-open software that is covered by copyrights and such. Oh well, I reckon I'll just have to type <like> once in awhile.
