Title: Hatsan AT44S 10 Qe magazine does not advance. Anyone know why?
Post by: Lmgunner13 on July 24, 2017, 09:21:44 PM
Just got my At44s-10 QE and the magazine doesn't advance to the next round. I loaded the magazine correctly and rotated it counterclockwise until it engaged the stop. After firing it will not advance to the next round. Am I doing something wrong or is it just not functioning?

Down a few slots in this old post, posted about some of the things that could go wrong.

Could be a simple as the striker spring being cranked up too far...so the striker can't travel all the way back...and the "hand" can't travel down far enough to pick up the next "edge" on the magazine ("edge" being those rectangular cuts around the outside of the mag.).

I took the scope off and it's exactly what you were saying. The hand is not traveling down far enough to engage the index nub. So how do I adjust the striker spring?

Are a couple...and while I don't usually quote this guy...it is a pretty clear vid:

(Nothing against him...just that I'll normally hunt up an independent person's vid before a "company" vid).

If you lower the spring tension 1/2 a turn (in this case, because of the design, that would be screwing IN) and it still doesn't let the had drop far enough to enegage the mag, then I'd have to look for some other problem under that side plate.

I tried tuning it down a half a turn and that didn't help. I took the side cover off and didn't see anything that would be causing the hand not to drop all the way.

Hatsan customer service email me within an hour after I emailed them. I had already tried everything they were suggesting. I called field Supply and they are sending me an RMA and will replace the rifle. I am really happy with the customer service from both Hatsan and Field Supply.

I thought that was very sweet and professional of her to double0check with me in person.
