Sorry for the poor pic, I'm still getting used to the Imgur software. Shot this group on July 26/17 at 104yds with gusting winds that were in between 3-10mph. I used a front rest and rear sand bag and shot Jsb 34g .25cal pellets. The groups on the other targets I shot that day were dispersed more horizontally until with this one I found the patience to wait for the lulls in the wind. I believe it's a 47 with one X and grouped at 2.4". Btw the four 10s were 1.12" ctc. I visually inspect all my pellets with a lighten magnifier and like everyone else I can't definitely explain the flier  >:(.

Marty ...... real nice .... My daughter has an HM1000X on the way from RAW, in .22.  Should be here in a couple of weeks.  Son-in-law ordered the BM at the same time.  They ordered them back in May.  Can't wait to try them both.  RAW's CNC machine, that shapes the stocks, broke down, and put a two week delay on manufacturing.  It will interesting on how these compare to my Wolf.

I've never held or shot a Daystate but from what everybody else says about them I bet that the they are on par with  RAW. The Raw is built like a tank and heavy but I think that's a plus when it comes to bench shooting. I'm curious to hear what you think about them.  The main reasons I own RAWs are they are made in the USA (only one state away from me), are a quality product and the customer service has been outstanding any time I've dealt with Martin or Sandra.

I have a .22 RAW barrel that I picked up a while ago and am thinking about switching my 30 HMX over. That will be after I use up all my .30 pellets. It's a little to loud for shooting in my back yard range and all I do is mostly shoot paper anyway. Let me know how your daughters .22 shoots after she gets it.

Will do, Marty.  I also plan on taking the RAW's over to Steve's (Nitrochrushr) house, so he can try them out too.  You will get two opinions.  Ted Bier won the Extreme this year with an FX Impact in .25, his video is on YouTube.  He explains a little about the better BC of the .25 vs the .30 .... and I think it handles the wind better than a .30.  If you plan to ever compete at high levels such as the Extreme Benchrest, it might be better to go to .25 cal?

I'll be up in PA at my sons house in mid September who lives not that far from Steve. We can get together and have a shoot out :D  I'll bring my RAWs.

I seriously doubt I'm consistently good enough to compete at the extreme levels so I mostly compete against myself. I tend to agree with Ted that .25 works better than .30. Having one of each the .25 seems to get slightly better scores.

I originally wanted a .25 but the .30 I have came along at a really good price.

Nice shooting guys 8)  Marty, let me know when you will be in the area and we'll try to set something up.  I'm surrounded by corn fields now so it is keeping me from setting up out in the field.  But I was able to set up diagonally across our property and get 100+ yards.  I think I can stagger to get more than one bench aligned with the target.  If not, we can set up along the corn field and get 75+  :D  Hopefully that Allan guy can make it too ;D

Some targets I shot on the 11th. These were taken out at the Talon gun range in Tallahassee Florida on their 100 yard range . It was about 95 degrees so I have the range to myself. Wind was barely moving. Shooting my .25 mrod with JSB 25gr pellets.
Marty if you don't mind score these for me. Thanks

I have a hard time seeing the targets with my scope at 100 yards so I put a splatter target over the center so I have something to shoot at. here is a pic before I pulled the splatter target off.

David.... it looks like 49/50 with 2x. The 3rd one in the middle looks like it is touching the line. I'll post that score for you. Nice shooting.
It always seems like 1 pellet wants to wander off the beaten path.

our scoring life would be easier if we could shoot wad cutters. Those nice clean holes would be something to see (pun intended).

I either have a plug and/or the Eagle Eye scoring gauge for every caliber I shoot. It makes it a lot easier but yes a wadcutter that shoots decently for every caliber would be nice:)

marty2
HM1000X
Hawke 8-32X56
.30 JSB 44.75
76* light air, F - Rest, R - Bag
50/50  1X 1.365" CTC

The close up of the target is from just before I removed the target so you can see the 5 holes clearly. I had a little bow in the target after I stapled it on and the holes in the cardstock really got mangled.

David & Marty ..... nice shooting.
I recommend that you print out your targets using premium 80 pound photo paper ..... they mount flatter, and the pellet holes are a lot cleaner.  I think you will like the results.

Thanks Allan.
Yes card stock does work well. The above target was shot on 110# photo card stock.

What happened was..... I shot this one at the local PB range and I was the last one down range putting up targets during a cease fire. There are 4x4 sheets of Homasote (that don't get changed to often) mounted on 2X2 frames at 100yards for mounting targets. I hurriedly staple up 6 targets and didn't check the targets carefully. I missed the fact that there were some old staples sticking out of the mounting board which caused this target to bubble in the middle. It was the only one that came out like this , all the others were fine. Go figure.

I expect 50/50 5X and all under a dime.

I'm jealous, and did I mention how much you irritate me ....  ;D ;D ;D ;) ;)

LOL!!! Well Allan, I got a kick out of this one.  Laughing so hard that the dog hopped off the couch ;D

Marty, this is what you will be dealing with when we get together to shoot next month ;D  I'll keep a 5 gallon bucket of water in the cornfield....if he gets too out of control, we can dump it on him ;D

Steve

That is funny. Steve do you think 5 gallons will be enough :D

Looking forward to it.

That 5 gallon bucket of water won't be 5 gallons after I shoot a bunch of holes in it!  That is, if I can hit it.
