I just tried to order this online. Declined ! My FOID card is not on file with Midway USA. I told the live chat fellow (Don) that .177 cal was exempt in IL. His reply was to ask my legislators about that! What a turkey..... Dave
-
Well I certainly needed another gun "wink""wink"....added it to a existing order ..I must say Midway dont play with there shipping charges....ouch
-
Careful Phil.... before you know it you'll be as bad as the rest of us.
-
I think I'm there ...in a little over a year have accumulated 27....and to think it started with finding my 397P in a closet...oh well I could be addicted to worse things...
-
I would grab one of these but... I have several guns that I don't shoot.. just laying around. 2 or 3 of the older plastic 760s and such. I'd sell them off in a heart beat but.... who is gonna pay $20 +shipping for them? So, they just sit there.... waiting for the dust bunnies to take up airgunning and shoot them. Problem is... when I see them at a yard sale or flea market, I feel obligated to rescue them.

Try to space it out some and give your wallet and marriage a breather for a minute. The guns are not going anywhere, there will be plenty of great deals in the future. ;)

Recipe for real air gun addiction.

I'm not married, in debt(air guns), and a zoo(lots of pets) and it can happen to the best of us.

You may have too many air guns ,,,,when you find out that you don't know how many you DO have !
-
HUSH !!! with that nonsense...
-
Is this gun better than a Daisy 880? I just bought the 880 a few weeks ago at walmart with a Bear River 900 which is kind of decent as well. Im thinking of ordering 2 of these Winchesters and taking the other 2 back and saving some money in the process. "dang" Airguns I keep buying @$%^

If you mean "scope", then it was not listed as being included. It did say it could accept a scope though.
BTW I caved and placed my FOID card on file with Midway USA in order to purchase air guns and ammo. Very quick process, about an hour to get the OK to buy. I guess Midway USA is just being careful but they are a PITA. Dave
-
I already got my one and only cheap pumper this year.(except the money pit 13xx carbine that I NEED for my backpacking survival rifle)
And my bb gun closet has all the corners filled.
Need to turn a couple springers to make room for the cookies.
Got a drawer full of cheap scopes too.
-
I just wanted a pick up and shoot plinker....so was planning on BB's...seeing as how its got a rifled barrel should I stick with pellets...thanks

If they don't come with the scopes, it's no great loss considering the scopes that come with those.... I have a box full of them.
-
At least, this rifle doesn't destroy scopes like most TWANGERS do. I have read that this rifle has the same internal parts as an 880. BUT, the price of these is usually a good bit more.?? Their website quoted $10 shipping to me, which i pretty cheap. I already have a cheap[ $10 ] model 880, or I would be buying one of these.
-
I hear ya.... if for no other reason, I like the all black look and the grip/stock. If they had some metal on them I would use my other Daisys as targets.
-
The 77 comes new with a scope way better than the 880, 760, 2100,66, Airmaster 77 etc. The 77 is a 4x32, instead of the nasty 4x15 those other guns come with.

Since Midway don't mention the scope any where, I would assume you don't get it.
A 4x32 is going to give a much brighter view than a 4x15. The objective lens is over twice as big. Even if it's a cheapo, so is the 4x15. And, despite what some have said, I have decent service from the Centerpoint 4x32's that I have. And, with those, you can adjust the objective lens for a sharp picture at whatever distance you want to shoot at. Remove front most ring on scope. Turn inner ring, which is an adjuster, until target is as sharp as possible, and reinstall the front locking ring you removed. I set mine for 11 yards. The scope on the Winchester has that same ring, so I think one would be able to do this on that scope too.
-
Well that's a plus....

So it is supposed to come with a scope? lol If not I guess thats part of the reconditioned process.
BTW for anybody considering buying this rifle. I added a few extra things to the cart and that dropped the price, then I removed most of those items except for couple tins of pellets and ended up with 7.25 shipping. Try to add a couple of these rifles to the cart and some pellets and such until the shipping comes down, then remove some 1 at a time and it might come down like mine did. Good luck
-
Midsouth wants $22.00 to ship one of these to me. Without the scope.
-
I caved... added 2 Crosman Pellet pouches at $4 each and 4 cartons of Crosman pointed pellets for $11 each and next thing you know it's up to almost $100 with shipping ($13 for some reason... part of why I ordered...)
My buddy has a daughter that likes shooting that is turning 13 in a couple months, picking up a 1077 for cheap tomorrow, was going to throw that together with a pellet pouch and a couple cartons of pellets for her...
-
Well my came today and looks brand new...even came with 2 tubes of BB's...open sights are pretty accurate out to 10 meters...but for me cheekweld sucked...so I put a BSA RD on it...on the money even with BB's...good luck
-
Mine came today also, 3 of 'em!! No scope(s) but two tubes of BBs in each box...WOOOO HOOOO. May order more at this price for Christmas, Birthdays, etc. etc.
-
They're down to $19.94... $30.73 shipped. But WM has new 880s for $35.00 delivered.
-
Oh geez..... I wonder if I could get away with the old "it followed me home" line..
Nope, I must resist... someone QUICK... buy all of them.
-
I think I would like the stock and that's what keeps me looking.
-
I know I like the stock. Wouldn't that look sweet on my gold Ted Williams stuffed with 2016 guts?
-
Its a fun little gun....stock is what caught my eye...pretty good shooter ...I may order another just for pellets.....LOL
As much as I like the gun, glad I didn't Pay full price ....like almost did couple weeks ago...no way is this gun worth $78 bucks....
-
Well, let me see, I 2 $40 plastic fantastic 880s to rob the guts out of for the metal/metal Ted Williams and 881. What's another $20 for a sweet stock set? I could even put the TW stuff back on the Winchester and have another tool to swat at the bore bees with. Oh geez... I think I've been breathing too much air.

So my Winchester 77's came in and I must say that this rifle blows pretty bad. It feels more like a toy than anything I've picked up so far. Its very light and small and seems like a really cheap version of my Daisy 880! Yeah that bad. Besides the feel of the gun and its cheap feeling it had no power at all. I believe the 2 I ordered did not get serviced properly when they reconditioned it. 10 pumps put out as much power as 3 pumps on the 880 on both of the 77's I got. So very dissapointed but glad I did not pay that much. My daughter 12 years old hates it and prefers the 88o by far. The 880 is just a better overall gun no comparison. No scope was included if anybody is wondering(not that it matters). Will try to return for refund. I thought this gun was built on the 880 platform but just an upgraded version. The opposite is true Not worth $20

I have had the same problem. Used to get some great deals from SG and then they decided they could not ship to Illinois. (their restrictions list only shows Chicago, not the whole state)
Just one of the joys of living in Illinois. Many here have no idea how fortunate they are to live in a state that repeats their rights.

Oh Man !!!! that ain't good...

I'm guessing the low powered referbs were oiled after getting them, but if not I'd start there. Makes me wonder what is different on the 77 vs. 880. Maybe bigger piston dish or shorter compression height- but I sure thought it was basically an 880 underneath.
-
Sorry to hear about these bad experiences with "refurbished" airguns. Think I'll stay with my Crosman Models 66, 760, Airmaster 77, Daisy 880, and my new Umarex APX NPG, and my 1322 abd 1377 carbines.
-
I would contact them & send it back.
-
The two I bought both needed oil. In my opinion, not as good as the 880. For the price I can live with it.
-
Well, before everyone goes smashing them against a tree... save me a stock and grip sides.
-
I'm happy with mine....:)...came oiled up and ready for plinking...good luck
-
Yeah the pump arm looks and seems like the Daisy 880 but the gun is overall a couple inches shorter in length. And the gun feels like it only weighs 5 ounces lol, sure the daisy is light but this gun is like a few pieces of paper, and its just not building any pressure when pumping. They looks practically brand new and were well oiled. I will be returning both of them and going to try to buy a used older model 880 from Ebay.. I know the Daisy 880's made before 1992 have the metal receiver and pump arm, plus I could swear based on my old one, that they are more powerful as well, and def a little heavier and balanced.
-
Mine would not build any pressure either......unless I cocked it fully and engage the safety. Not sure I like that or not.
-
Cock it and engage the safety? That's weird. I'm sure that "feature" can be worked around.
-
Well, it looks like they have finally sold all of them. They got down to $18 + change for the last few.
