Title: Artemis M16 PCP air rifle - any good?
Post by: Skillet on July 17, 2017, 06:56:03 PM
Krale sells an Artemis M16 PCP rifle that looks good and the price is nice, but are they any good?  There is little to see about the brand name on the Krale website, and I only see that they're made in China.  Any opinions anyone would care to share?

Thinking this is what the MRod could have been had Crosman chose to continue evolving it.
I don't think sending the MRod to Custom Shop gives it the legs necessary to compete long term with todays PCP's.

So many nice things about this gun, I'm getting one, the bad part is if they become as popular as I suspect they will the used Mrods will drop drastically in price I'm affraid.

I agree.I can't see this not having an effect on MRod pricing. We've seen some pretty good price cut awhile back on MRods before the likes of M16 hitting the market.
SPA is sure making some inroads across the whole air rifle spectrum.

It's all good, my SynRod ain't going anywhere. It's about the heaviest I want to get anyhow. I do want to see the specs on the Dominator.

If they anything like the three SPA guns that I already own they really will put my Mrod to shame in comparison.  With a side lever cock, titanium air tube (250 bar fill which is approximately 3600psi), regulator and really nice fit and finish what's not to like.  Some have been calling them copycats but in reality their designs are nothing like the Mrod or discovery, the valves are completely different (way more power) and even the way that they're assembled is different.  SPA is really designing everything they're putting out from the ground up it looks like.

I hate to admit it but I still have a crush on the  Urban.

Same here.........my MRod won't be sold to make room for something else.
It's the also the heavyset and longest I care to go.
Lately it's been my benchmark with doing some comparison shopping.

The Urban does have a lot of right things going for it but hasn't tempted me like the M16 has.

Now on the other hand.... some of my spring guns could be expendable.

SPA being a copy cat? That's a stretch! They are taking models and listening to what I know what I've been wanting out of air rifles I already own.

Ahh my dear, dear springers. What's to become of them?
They still get tested with my chrono to make sure they still haven't lost their still in good health.
