I don't know anything about it but it looked like a good purchase.

I have posted more pictures a half-dozen replies ahead in this thread>

FWB 65s are amazing air pistols.

How much did it cost you?

Eric please try posting more pics and have you fired it yet?  How do you like the nearly complete lack of recoil?
I have had an FWB P80 for almost a year and the former owner finally let me buy it from him about three weeks ago.  I replaced the seals with a seal kit with a piston ring that fits both the 65 and 80 pistols out of Canada for about $35.00.  Very easy to find the website if need be.
Hope you enjoy your new FWB target pistol, it is a beautifully crafted shooting instrument!

That is sweet looking. Love the angle of the grip and the trigger looks awesome as well.

Pictures beyond these first two won't attach.

Let me know if you want to sell it.

That's a pretty early example, probably made late 1968 or early '69. Condition is fabulous! Really a lovely example.

Here's an old post from another forum, with some serial number info (includes other FWB, Weihrauch, and Walther models, too):

Here is a group of model 65 variations from the fabulous "Vintage Airgun Gallery" site:

The 65 was offered in Germany with three styles of grips: plastic sport grips, walnut sport grips (like yours), and walnut match grips with adjustable palm shelf, etc. The wood sport grips changed from cut checkering to stippling fairly early on, so that marks yours as an earlier example.

Other details that mark yours as an early model: rear sight with interchangeable notch blades (later guns have a blade whose notch width could be adjusted by a small cam device); fixed front sight (interchangeable blades later); and fairly narrow trigger blade.

The piston seal in the 65 is a steel ring, and the springs are very high quality. The three resilient-material parts that wear out are the breech seal, bumper on the front of the piston, and small snubber on the lower front of the retractable breech sleeve (which activates the mechanism that locks the trigger while the action is open). If those parts in your gun are OEM they almost certainly need to be changed.

That's really one of the nicest early 65's I've ever seen--please save me a place in the, "...if you ever want to sell it, call me" line, LOL.
