Mine is an older one, so I'm set with a nice multi pump air rifle. Just out of curiosity I read the three Amazon reviews on these. I hadn't considered this, but here it is. We all know Crosman brought out the new Legacy 2100. These have gone to a plastic receiver. But, the older 2100B is still available, and it has a metal receiver. It seems the new Remington Airmaster 77's are coming with the plastic receiver. I have been worried that Crosman would drop the metal receiver version of the 2100, and go with the new Legacy. I hope not.
So, be aware. The metal to plastic "progression" is happening. Makes me want a new Benjamin 397 or 392! For me, I'll keep shooting my 10 year old Airmaster.

Yep, did the same, prior, with the 760 and 66.

Recently picked up an AM 77 and a 766 and I'm glad I did. I already have a pair of 2100s and a 2200 magnum.

So the new am77 does in fact gave a plastic receiver ?

I have no idea... my point was that if they had... I'm glad I got my hands on some metal ones.
-
Yep! I certainly don't plan to get rid of mine!
Love that little rifle...

Read through the few reviews for it ob Amazon. I'm keeping mine too. Anyone on the boderline about the metal 2100, maybe it's days are numbered.

I hope not, I already have mine but that doesn't mean I want them to go out of production.

I looked it up, and it appears that crosman released it with the plastic receiver without telling their sellers about it because everyone still has it listed it as having a metal receiver.

I see they have the refurb 2100 classics for $39.00. If I didn't already have the ones I do I would go for it.

I keep keep thinking I have too many versions of this gun but now I think I dont have enough. ::) I even passed on a clean sweet 766 with a tapered metal barrel. Now I regret it. Always wanted a 2200 with the shiny reciever. None ever came up at a price I was willing to pay.
Hi Lizzie! I always seem to miss your posts since I seem to post at odd times. I still remember your 2100 stories and posts. Lol ;D

Hi Mav! Great to see you! I've wondered if you still post here or not! ;D
Show me pics of what's on your wish list, and if I have any of them, they're yours! Grin

Yea, I check in here time to time, mostly looking at 2100ish, 66, 760, and 13xx posts. Some people we knew are still here. Some active, some in the shadows. Lol Others have gone back to their old forums. I still see them around time to time.
Lizzie, you're such an enabler. Lol You introduced me into looking for airguns on airgun classifides and auction sights. In fact, I had to go look at the offerings at one sight before posting this because I was reminded. I'm kind of A.D.D. like that. :o No 2100s, 2200s, 766s, or desired 760s. There was a steeply priced 140 and 1400.
I'll see if I can dig anything up as in pics. You already know I tinker with my airguns. Some airgun variants have designs in which certain problems are easier to solve than others. I'll PM you when I get my head together on the specifics.

Looks like mav could be a taker for that 760 you messaged me about ( depending on what he considers a desired 760 )
