Title: Where can I buy a slightly heavier spring for the Disco ?
Post by: ninsei on June 24, 2017, 06:09:53 PM
Hi.  looking for a slightly heavier spring for the Disco tube.  I have some very heavy spring now and it's awkward to pull the bolt all the way back.  Anything in between stock and a heavy spring?  Thanks.

Instead of swapping springs I would find a good power adjuster for your disco.  It will allow you to use the stock discovery spring and raise or lower the power anytime.  Just google Discovery power adjuster and you should find many to choose from.

If you do want a slightly more powerful spring, or a much more powerful one, check out Magnum Airpower LLC - they carry both.

A real Hardware store, The older the store the better in my experience, We have one in town that has everything from every size spring's and machine screws to Muskrat traps hanging on the wall over the register. It's my go to Store for almost everything. I love it!
and I see a few old one's right where your at   https://www.google.com/search?q=new+york+nassau+county+hardware+stores&oq=new+york+nassau+county+hardware+stores&aqs=chrome..69i57j69i64l2.21538j0j1&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8 (https://www.google.com/search?q=new+york+nassau+county+hardware+stores&oq=new+york+nassau+county+hardware+stores&aqs=chrome..69i57j69i64l2.21538j0j1&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8)   I'd like to walk around that Sbs Hardware store looks like a real hidden Gem! right there, I have a fetish for old hardware stores!  Ha Ha   Jaa

Thanks.  Don't see the 'medium' disco spring on the Magnum Airpower site.  Lots of choices there at Mcmastercarr.  I have a stiffer spring that's meant for a 2240 Co2 tube so it's shorter than the stock disco one but stiffer.  Would that be ok to use and would it give me more power?  I would think so.

I put a Crosman Challenger Power Adjuster in my Disco. Just screw in the Adjuster until you get the exact power you are looking for. You can get it by calling Crosman directly (800) 724-7486). Cheap and is a drop in replacement for the rear plug on a Disco. The part number for the Challenger Power Adjuster Assembly includes all parts needed) is CH2009‐120.

Looks like Bill at Magnum Airpower may be calling the medium power Discovery spring the "short" spring. Here is a link: http://onlinestore.magnumairpower.com/products/crosman-striker-springs (http://onlinestore.magnumairpower.com/products/crosman-striker-springs)

I don't remember the screw thread size of the Adjuster but I think so. I usually shoot it down when I need to. Someone else may know but I'm traveling and not home to check it.

And no, the order taker at Crosman probably won't know either. The order takers .... well, just take orders. They usually don't know what fits what.
