Title: PROPER Trigger Adjustment For PROD?
Post by: DougGuy on June 24, 2017, 11:16:11 AM
The sear screw keeps working loose in my prod, so while I am in there to loctite the screws, what is the proper way to adjust the trigger on these guns?  I did a search but didn't come up with anything.  I am sure there has to be a right way and a wrong way..

How ever you desire the pull in weight and 2 stage or not. The sear engagement is the only part that is a safety issue. You need enough sear engagement so that when you bump the buttstock on an object it does not fire. And by bump, i don't mean tap. I prefer as light as possible with no first stage, but that is MY preference. The Over travel is adjusted by adjusting it up until it won't fire, then slightly backing off the screw.

After some trial and errors adjustements,i finally adjusted the trigger single stage with a slightly sear pre-desengagement by loosing completely the rear screw and working only with the front screw. The trigger works perfectly (for me) and still safe.

Mine is set exactly the same as my pb precision rifle. Short first stage and right at a two pound pull.
