Title: Yeah I'm going to do it...
Post by: Jaredhunter1991 on June 18, 2017, 10:49:59 PM
Hi guys
So as you know I have both the 392 and the 397 Benjamin pumpers and I am in love with them lol. Anyway so I was going to buy a nice stock and put a Williams peep sight.
However talking to my wife's grandfather who actually builds really nice muzzleloaders from scratch I'm going to attemp to do my own stock so fingers crossed lol. Anyway I bought a brass butt plate for it and bought some brass inlays to shine it up a bit lol. I plan to get the super sear, tko moderator and the Williams peep sight also to help it out a bit. So this will be a long drawn out build thread lol. But since I'm tearing the gun down

I figured I'd ask what other mods can be done to enhance power, accuracy or just make it look or function better. I'm making a list this week and week after next I'm starting on the build.  Also any other suggestions or helpful comments would be great. And if you all have any suggestions on wood type used I'd appreciate it but I was thinking a premium grade tiger maple.

You should do this with your grandfather-in-law. It would be a great bonding opportunity.

Man, I am really intrigued!
I would LOVE to be able to do that but it is above my wood working skills.
I am pretty sure that are mods that can be done to the valve, but that just leads to more pumping.
Please keep us updated with your progress!

As far as wood selection ...I vote some nicely figured Walnut.

Jeremy nailed it.

Jared, I'm a bit envious- not just what you're doing but who you're doing it with.  Times like that are to be relished and treasured forever.  A gun like the 392 will last for generations, and when you hand it down to your grandchildren, that airgun will have some Family History!
