Title: Looking at Red Dots, CQC scopes, and other compact scopes for lighter guns...
Post by: . on June 17, 2017, 11:28:02 PM
I am liking my Crosman guns a lot, but scoping such light carbines and rifles is proving to be harder than I imagined. I dislike a top-heavy shooter! Luckily, what I am looking for now are good optics for close-in shooting, mostly under, say, 10 yards, so I should be able to find something that balances nicley. I have two or three guns that I want to put short range optics on..

So, I am looking for suggestions on Red Dots, or close quarters combat optics of some sort, or a compact scope with low or low-med magnification.

What are you using? What do you recommend?

Thanks!! :-)

I have a Vokul holographic red/green dot sight on my Hatsan Edge .25 springer. The action is now in a Webley Spector stock sprayed with clear truck bed liner so it will take some abuse if I'm climbing down the bank behind the house to the creek and the Vokul sight makes it easy to line up on target...where the dot is, the pellet goes and being open style, you can look around and over it and still line back up quick.
I had to get an adapter to make it fit on the dovetail but it's lightweight, gets the job done and the entire package of gun and dot sight weighs in about 6 1/2 pounds.

the millet sp-1 3moa red dot is priced way under its' value. alot of people use them on here , and they have very good reviews about everywhere. it's the best red dot i've found for less than a matchdot ultra dot. it comes with weaver rings, but leapers makes easy small adapters, or you can just use other rings, it has 1" tube. the dots are true 3moa, unlike most less expensive dots. also comes with sunshade.

i had one and really liked it, bought another, and then bought 3 in silver..lol all have worked great with zero issues on any of them.

I moved to the optics gate, hopefully it will get more exposure.

Something to consider is shotgun/crossbow scope...I use a tasco bantam on a 1322 with stock barrel, steel breech and crosman stock,,nice light shooter...good luck on your choice
